someone tagged me in an aizawa artwork they reblogged but i couldn't interact with the post at all or view the blog even though i used to be able to... i think i may be blocked? i've never bothered anyone and i've only interacted with a handful of people since i started this blog so if that's the case i'm a little confused. maybe it's because i spammed the yakuza and aizawa tags too much and they wanna decongest it out a bit?
...damn, am i really that annoying?
they're free to block whoever they want to protect their peace and enjoy their online experiences of course but i do worry i did something wrong to bother or offend them and it makes me sad, ya know?
anyway, even though you likely won't see this i want you to know that i loved your few aizawa fanart pieces! i think they're beautiful and you do him justice and i would have loved to see more!
good luck tho ^-^

Where do you hold your love?
In your heart
you hold your love in your heart. love is intrinsic, inevitable, love is the beating core of everything; love is also hard to talk about. your love comes out with more rareness, mostly shows up for the big things in a big way- this doesn't mean it doesn't beat for the small stuff, you feel it all, in fact you feel it more intensely than most which is why it's so hard to get out. you hold your love inside you because it matters, it might be the only thing that does.

This post has been a long time coming, as I started it with the concept pre-pandemic. I mostly wanted to address staff mental health conditions as I have certain camper mental health conditions. Anxiety seemed like a good one, since it’s common as both a disorder and as a response to the stressful environment at camp. It’s also something I’m quite familiar with.
Feeling a certain amount of anxiety at camp is normal. I’m not saying an anxiety disorder is normal, although fairly common. Anxiety in and of itself is normal, it’s when it becomes harmful to your life that it becomes a disorder. There are many different ways of managing anxiety, from professional help such as therapy to at home techniques like time in nature and breathing exercises.
Over the course of the pandemic, I’ve spend some time studying mindfulness and meditation. I was familiar with breathing exercises and certain aspects of mindfulness through DBT over the years, but I did reading and built actual practices over time and developed more of an appreciation and ability. So here are my favorite:
Narration with acceptance. This feels weird, because you’re narrating your thoughts, feelings, and senses, then not judging it and just accepting your reality. See also: radical acceptance.
Square breathing. 4 counts in, 4 counts hold, 4 counts out, 4 counts hold.
7-11 breathing. 7 counts in, 11 counts out.
Visualization. I really enjoy visualization because it moves me into another mindset. I like to visualize skipping rocks, slivers falling through water, and mountains.
Gratitude meditation. I actually did this at a program once. Basically you do a little breathing, then think about things you’re grateful for.
Guided practices. It’s super easy to find 5-minute meditations on YouTube. I usually go for calming ones, as I do mine at bedtime, but there’s also morning ones and other times of the day.
Not all practices are appropriate for everyone or will work for everyone, and there’s tons of others, like progressive muscle relaxation. Mindfulness also encompasses things like just being present in the moment. I like to do this when I eat at home, to just sit in silence and take in the food I’m eating.
You also can use other methods to manage anxiety, and mental health in general. I’ve got a couple other posts that are worth reading. This one is a discussion post, so the notes and replies have tons of great ideas. This one is more of a general overview. And, of course, there is the entirety of the mental health queue, which is a mix of posts about camper and staff mental health.
If you feel like your anxiety is having a detrimental effect on your life, especially with panic attacks, I do encourage you to explore therapeutic options, such as therapy or even medication. This post is not a supplement for professional help, this is more of a guide for managing anxiety at camp.
Might try to write a Camilo fic. Idk 💅
