Birthday of Danish sculptor Henrik Starcke whose work The Four Winds (1960) I had the pleasure of seeing virtually every week during my commuting days (it’s located in front of Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup).
Starcke was born April 16, 1899 and died in 1973. He worked in many unusual materials, often including ceramics and paint, and there is usually a fantastical, or mythological/shamanic aspect to his work.
