He’d be lying to himself if he tried to pretend that his conversation with Owen hadn’t bummed him out a little. He wasn’t in love with the blonde by any stretch of the imagination, nor was he even contemplating a claim. He thought it was too soon for that sort of talk – but he had had a crush on him. And unrequited feelings always stung a little. Moreso when you were rejected in favour of your brother, he was learning.
Still, his mood couldn’t be tainted too much. Because he and Caleb had made a big step. An important one, and one that ought to be enjoyed. He’d never thought it would matter as much as it did to have his submissive take his name, but watching Caleb sign his new name for the first time had made his stomach flip. ‘Hey Mr. Anderson –’ he called, closing down his laptop for the evening. ‘You know this means when you get your PhD, you’ll be Dr. Anderson.’ he pointed out with a proud grin.
