Of The Abyss is an post apocalyptic D&D5e campaign that’ll end up being quite long, but the first arc of the storyline can be played on its own.
Ten years ago, portals from the Nine Hells opened all over the continent of Faerun, allowing mass armies of devils to spill in, taking over and destroying everything in sight. Nearly everyone has either been killed, or taken as slaves. You are arriving at the island of Lantan, the most popular and most advanced of the three safe zones.
While earning your place among the population, you learn that the Amethyst of the Abyss, the only thing keeping Lantan safe from the devils, is being targeted. If your enemies succeed in destroying it, Lantan will be invaded like everywhere else, and the citizens will die.
I’m almost done with the outline for the first arc, in which the party is tasked to prove to Nim, the leader of the Lantan counsel, that they can pull their weight and should be allowed to stay. I’m gonna post a link for DM’s to look through it, so if any of you try it out, please let me know what you think and maybe some interesting things that happened. It’s my first campaign and I’m pretty excited.
