Most people agree with Christian Evangelicals for their beliefs on a moral and ethical lifestyle but Christian evangelicals go to bat for the least moral candidate.
White Christian evangelicals want someone (above all being the highest percentage of these questions) that stands up with people of THEIR religious beliefs.
They also believe that Trump has strong religious belief whereas more than half of all US adults really couldn’t care one way or another (is this the rise of a secular nation they are afraid of? Why is that bad?).
But what gets me is that WEC want someone that shares their religious beliefs in contrary to most people don’t require that for who they vote for. If they are the majority religion in America wouldn’t that mean that bias would signal to a lot of the reason why America has gone and continues to go, to a darker place coming from a white majority Christian voting base for years and years. It’s scary to think that the theocracy that America was built on resides to this day and it’s their understanding that what America was built on was correct.
I can’t fathom a country built on slavery and land theft under the name of God to not be turning into a shit hole by every waking moment.
They’re fighting not to turn ”secular” but they don’t realize they already arranged this land on a false interpretation of Christianity and what it stands for. It’s not GOING to shit, it’s ALWAYS been shit. So fuck all that ”keep America great” bullshit because from the time y'all stepped foot here you been sinning under the guise of it being how God wanted it.
Conservatism is all about accepting the way things were and never changing it because it will always work for the people who hold the power(money).
this is the funniest line ive ever seen in a university powerpoint but also it’s true
Here’s your daily reminder that I hate Antifa! They can just fuck off
- Don’t call them punk cause they’re not they just wish they were
- They’re posers
- Terrorist posers in fact
- They’re just like Sims omfg they light themselves on fire and just dance around yelling and panicking instead of trying to put themselves out, they break everything and refuse to fix it (this includes their own shit, sometimes) leave rotting food and urine puddles everywhere they go, and sometimes they just glitch out and immediately cancel out whatever they’re doing
- Why do so many people consider them punk and aspire to that ugh y’all are just making us all look bad stop trying to dumb punk down by associating it with these losers
I would consider myself pretty damn successful if I made one of those “stay away from these blogs they’re dangerous because they’re centrist/right leaning” shitlists that Tumblrinas on here sometimes make.
Like aww, that’s so sweet of you to validate my ballsiness, I try! And just to show you how much I appreciate earning a spot on your shitlist, you can have one on mine too! I just keep mine mentally because I may be petty, but I’m not that damned petty.
And this isn’t exactly related but I just feel like punk has been hijacked by SJW and identity politics toxicity, and BLM and Antifa wanna get some slugs in too. I honestly think though, that fighting for my place in a subculture that most of its members I’ve met don’t want me (despite claiming to be against authoritarianism, coercion, group-think and propaganda. You’ve become what you sing about hating, good job losers.) is actually pretty punk in and of itself. I really hope to one day find at least one other person like me, who also loves punk but doesn’t love identity politics and brainwashing. I don’t want people to pat me on the head and promise me “you’re a real punk, don’t worry, here have a cookie”, I’d just like to participate and enjoy a common interest with other like minded people. If I make even one friend from that more accepting part of the punk community, then that’s good enough for me. But if possible I’d love to have a little group of friends (like 3-6) and we’d… I guess do whatever friends groups do together, that’s something I really never had so I have no idea what that’s like oof
There’s a huge distance between the issues that are common sense to most Americans, and where the center line is drawn for most politicians. That disconnect is the reason so many voters and potential voters feel disaffected with politics. Let’s talk about the misconceptions that politicians and corporate media have about what it means to be centrist and independent, and what needs to change.
“There’s this new trendy myth that people who want free speech want to say awful things all the time. It’s just isn’t true, it protects everyone. If you’re mildly left-wing on Twitter, you’re suddenly Trotsky, right? If you’re mildly conservative, you’re Hitler and if you’re centrist and you look at both arguments, you’re a coward. Just because you’re offended it doesn’t mean you’re right.”
It is possible to vote for a member of a political party without agreeing with every single thing they say. It’s possible to chose a candidate without that candidate completely respresenting the kind of person you are. You can agree with only some of what a candidate is saying, and still vote for them if the other candidate doesn’t line up with as many of your beliefs. Having political leanings doesn’t dictate how good or horrible of a person you are. There’s no way a candidate will think exactly the same way you do, unless you yourself are the candidate.
You can vote for the candidate’s platform and and not their personality. Vote for what they say they will work towards, not whether their smile is pretty. Vote for the person who best represents the change you want to see in the country, not for the person who just “seems friendly” or “paints a nice picture”. Vote for facts, not feelings.
Take the best points from all sides and use LOGIC.
This just in:
I am the ultimate centrist.
I am a teen, and I have talked someone down from suicide. I have talked people through depresive episodes, and manic episodes, and Schizophrenia. I have talked people through PTSD flashbacks. I have learned first aid so I can tell people how to care for their self harm wounds, and I have helped a fellow CHILD who was dying because her uncle would beat her every time she tried to get food. This is horrible. I shouldn’t have to feel like I’ve been through a war. What do we all have in common? We’re trans, and that one fact about us has made our lives hell. In my fifteen-ish years of life, I have learned more about endocrinology and neuroscience then many full grown adults, just so that I can prove my existence to people I meet, and so I can get medical care because the doctors rarely know how to deal with us. PLEASE, please support trans rights, so kids like me can grow up without having to deal with this. There’s a reason trans people strugggle with PTSD and GAD and Depression, but you can help. Please.
He’s spot-on with this one, though I think rather than Republicans being “too stupid” to do what they need to do, I think it’s that they’re too fearful of overstepping and how they’ll be smeared and depicted for it in the history books. Which arguably is very stupid because they desperately need to act; do their jobs. The American people need them to. None of us can afford to keep chalking the left off as foolish, spoiled children–they’re getting results while the rest of us sit back spinelessly and watch the world turn to ruin.
@chlometov, on topic. His logic stays on track with this one.
It really is beyond parody.
How us centrists see what’s going on
Love her already. The left–and this country–would not be in such bad shape if they had more like her on their side. Check out some of her content!
Another insightful piece about censorship:
I’ve had my social media accounts taken out of commission and posts “removed” more than a few times. There has never been anything that violated any of their policies, other than discussing reality.
