it's one of the sole components from the Gorillaz franchise that does the best job in explaining the IRL integrity and using-cartoons-for-social-criticism notion.
It accurately explains the vision that Damon and Jamie started the project with (which was to criticize the media industry) and also explains the roles the virtual characters have in the making of the mvs, the interviews etc. (for example ROTO states that every Gorillaz music video has been more or less staged because the characters explain in detail the technological aspects the crew partook in filming them and also discuss the meaning of every song)
It also shows how much lore is integrated in the Gorillaz storyline (though it's not through the mvs)
I would say that it laid the very basis of what the band was supposed to portray. I would highly recommend new fans or lore stans to check it out.
Today in 2010 🤡 that year was massive on RecordStoreDay. Both Gorillaz and Blur vinyls have been released.
