Trysorydd cenedlaethol yr SNP yn beirniadu diffyg gwybodaeth am y swydd wrth gamu o’r neilltu
Daeth cadarnhad o ymddiswyddiad Douglas Chapman neithiwr (nos Sadwrn, Mai 29)
Mae’r aelod seneddol oedd yn gyfrifol am gyllid yr SNP wedi camu o’r neilltu gan ddweud nad oedd ganddo fe ddigon o wybodaeth am y swydd i’w gwneud hi’n iawn.
Daeth cadarnhad neithiwr (nos Sadwrn, Mai 29) o ymadawiad Douglas Chapman, y trysorydd cenedlaethol sydd hefyd yn aelod seneddol yn Dunfermline a Gorllewin Fife.
Fe fu yn y swydd ers y llynedd.
Ac er ei fod yn dweud iddo gael “mandad sylweddol” gan aelodau i sicrhau mwy o dryloywder yng nghyllid y blaid, mae’n dweud na chafodd e “gefnogaeth na gwybodaeth ariannol i gwblhau dyletswyddau ariannol y Trysorydd Cenedlaethol”, a’i fod yn “difaru” bod yn rhaid iddo gamu o’r neilltu.
Dydy hi ddim yn glir beth arweiniodd at y sefyllfa, ond mae Kirsten Oswald, un arall o aelodau seneddol y blaid, yn dweud ei bod hi’n “anghytuno’n fawr” â barn ei chydweithiwr.
Serch hynny, mae’n dweud ei bod hi’n “parchu” ei benderfyniad.
“Mae gan bob trysorydd cenedlaethol yr SNP fynediad at wybodaeth ariannol fanwl ac maen nhw’n adrodd yn ôl i’r pwyllgor gwaith cenedlaethol bob mis,” meddai.“Gall y pwyllgor gwaith cenedlaethol wneud cais am unrhyw wybodaeth ychwanegol sydd ei hangen arno.
“Mae cyfrifion yr SNP hefyd yn cael eu harchwilio’n annibynnol, eu cyflwyno i’r Comisiwn Etholiadol a’u cyhoeddi.”
The SNP's national treasurer criticises a lack of information about the job when stepping aside.
Confirmation came last night (Saturday night, May 29) of Douglas Chapman's resignation.
The member of parliament who was responsible for the SNP's revenue has stepped aside saying he didn't have information about the job to do it well.
Confirmation came last night (Saturday night, May 29) of Douglas Chapman's departure, the national treasurer who is also a member of parliament in Dunfermline and West Fife.
He has been in the job since last year.
And although he says he was given "a substantial mandate" by members to ensure more transparency in the party's income, he says he didn't have "support or financial information to fulfill the National Treasure's financial duties", and he "regrets" having to step down.
It is not clear what lead to the situation, but Kirsten Oswald, another of the party's members of parliament, says she "disagrees a lot" with her coworker's opinion.
Despite that, she says she "respects" his decision.
"Every national treasurer of the SNP has access to detailed financial information and they report back to the national executive committee every month," she said. "The national executive committee can make an application for any additional information it needs.
"The SNP's accounts are also examined independently, submitted to the Electoral Commission, and published."
GENERAL GENSHIN IMPACT VERSE.
Since I have quite a few Genshin Impact blogs/ocs following me, I decided to make a Genshin Impact verse for a select few muses! That way it will be easier for Genshin Impact muses to interact, considering GenImpact is so lore-heavy. The muses in this verse are: Visal, Sovann, Feris, Edelweiss, Marija, Therese, and Gael.
Visal - Shard of Shattered Legacy
A traveling scholar and alchemist gifted with a cryo vision, Visal is a bit of a solitary person filled to the brim with formal manner and abundant knowledge. He rarely uses his vision, though he’s quite an expert in archonic, and therefore vision-related, history. If asked about his upbringing, he’ll say that he did not know his birth parents except for the single fact that one of them was adeptal in some form, and that a foster family raised him. This is only a tiny truth concealing a huge lie. He only mentions having adeptal lineage because of the physical traits he cannot hide-- horns, a tail, and paws where feet should be.
In truth, Visal is the fragile remnant of a people and ancient nation long since lost to the times. He holds tiny fragments of a gnosis within him: the gnosis of the brutally slain archon Herald of the Heavens. But this archon was not killed by another during the climactic end of the archon wars. No, this archon was killed by the very creature meant to protect it and its people. He was not born but made in the midst of agony, rage, and grief of people with no hope. He now lives as a dethroned prince all too happy to be in rags. That’s not to say he’s content with life; currently he’s trying to track down where concentrated numbers of his people have dispersed, as his people will never be able to receive visions from the archons in power within present day. Not that he can give them visions; his powers outside of his cryo vision are limited to him. He’s also searching for the two who remember the bitter fate of his birthplace just as well as he does: Feris and Sovann.
Sovann - Moonlit Funerary
A creature similar to the near-extinct yaksha of Liyue. Sovann and their brood of siblings were raised and trained as the Herald’s guard dogs before the archon war and unleashed upon the world during the archon war. By all accounts, Sovann and their siblings could have been divine; but the Herald’s light far outshone that of Sovann’s kin. So be it. They and their kin never wanted godhood, nor did they want the taste of blood staining their mouths for another’s gain. And so Sovann reminded the Herald just what it was that protected it in times of dark: the moonlit glint of vengeful teeth.
Sovann now makes their way across Teyvat as nothing more than a ghost story to tell children who try to wander too far from the glowing light of houses at night. Do not trust the moonlight, for it makes you feel safe in hostile darkness. Their story is one of fable now. But they are very, very real. They make a living from destroying evidence and information, clearing domains and ruins, and translating ancient tablets-- though it won’t be Mora you pay them with. Curiously, they can also be hired to attempt making contact with one of the seven archons... if you have the right bargaining chips, of course.
Feris - Sunbathed Stonewarden
A seasoned and rugged journeyman with a geo vision who hails from the foothills of Mondstadt near Dragonspine. He claims fealty to no archon or nation, choosing instead to live a life of roaming throughout Teyvat as a commissionable guide, bodyguard, companion, or explorer. Though seemingly no place is home, he knows most of the nations’ customs, languages, and histories as if all of them had once been his home at some point.
He has full, vivid memory of the Herald’s doomed people-- Qwythaer, a name that has been lost to time, like so many other lands, archons, and peoples drowned in the sea of blood the archon war spilled upon the world. He was the final attempt at a legacy for the Herald. When he failed to inherit even a shred of divinity or the ability to adapt to the Herald’s gnosis, he was tossed aside. It was Sovann and their siblings who ultimately took him in. He was sealed away when the war began to reach its climax-- only to be freed by the brutal killing of his parent, the Herald. The last time he saw Sovann was that sun-kissed morning, eating the raw flesh from the Herald’s massive body. He and Sovann have certainly heard tales of each other, though neither have made the move for a reunion. Something in Feris tells him it would be best to keep that distance: that something being a tiny shard of the Herald’s gnosis sitting deep in his chest.
Edelweiss - Flowering Springtime
A dendro-wielding adeptus who has foregone the battle front as a means of protection for the people of Liyue and turned to providing them a place of rest and comfort instead. She runs an inn known as Hollyhock Haven, which can appear anywhere throughout Teyvat due to being located within a Serenitea Pot. The building itself can appear just about anywhere, the though heart and soul of it are stored away within that tiny pocket of reality. She welcomes all travelers into her care, no matter who they are or where they’re from.
Visions and delusions will not work inside her inn or on the premises of her inn. Any sort of violence will be rendered useless. Conspiratorial words turn to poison on the tongue that can nearly choke the life out of the speaker. All secrets are kept under lock and key; if one tries to share a secret that’s not theirs, their lips will become sealed by flowers and thorns. Any damage inflicted onto any item or person will fail to stick for longer than a second or two. Her inn is a realm of peace. She will not have it any other way. And should anyone truly try to threaten her or her guests-- well, there’s a reason she survived through the archon wars and still prevails today.
Marija - Voice of Hedonistic Abandon
An ex-Fatui who has willingly become an apostasy of the Tsaritsa and her people, Marija now travels as a well-known (if not utterly taboo) authoress and songstress. Very few people will actually know who she is when they lay eyes on her. She’s changed quite a bit since her early, naive days beneath the rule of the cryo archon. She possesses an electro vision and a dendro delusion. There are rumors that the Marija who used to serve the Tsaritsa succumbed to the awful havoc of her delusion, and her body was never recovered from the massive monster of vines and growth left behind. She would only smile cryptically at that tale.
She makes no efforts to conceal her amoral character and actively encourages others to follow their hearts-- indeed, she wants everyone’s hearts to eat them alive, just as hers did. She holds no reverie for the archons, nor for people, nor for animals, nor for adepti, nor for flora, nor for the very earth she stands upon. After all, why offer reverence to that which is all dependent upon each other?
Therese - Disillusioned Archivist
A young woman from Mondstadt, Therese has been distanced from her family ever since her brother was lost to the abyss and her parents simply stopped acknowledging he had ever existed. At first, Therese went into training to become part of the clergy for the Cathedral. Upon her 16th birthday and having another near-death experience when faced with a pyro abyssal mage, in which she received a hydro vision, Therese abandoned her post to train as a knight instead. She hasn’t been formally inducted into the knights yet. She’s doubting she ever will be, with the way she so curtly and coldly questions the system of power and process within Mondstadt. Still, she is often granted the right to take adventuring commissions and keep the people safe. She most often works as Lisa’s assistant and has started an impressive archival book of all the monsters she crosses paths with in Teyvat.
Gael - Glow of Unfamiliar Fire
Much like the Traveler, Gael presumably is not originally from the realm of Teyvat. He can control the burning hot rage of fire without having any vision. There’s no record of his life beginning anywhere in Teyvat. He’s an utter stranger. In fact, he shouldn’t be in Teyvat at all. In a moment of desperation, an ally of his tore the seam of the known and the unknown in half with her abyssal sword. She pushed him through that seam, promising he would find his way back, pleading for him to keep his brother’s heart safe within him, to please stay alive. And so Gael awoke in Teyvat’s wilderness, head scrambled and body aching. He quickly learned it was unusual to be able to use elements without a vision, so he did what he had to: killed a treasure hoarder wielding a pyro vision and stole the sigil from the still-warm body to keep “as his own”. Each of his actions within Teyvat weighs heavily upon him. Part of him tells him to help the people of Teyvat as he can while trying to find a way back home... the other tells him that this scarred, painful world ought to be purged in cleansing flame. But really, all he wants is to leave, to keep any trouble he causes limited. Though that is easier said than done.
I haven't posted any of my writing online in a looooong time, but I got inspired to write an afterward after reading the Lucio upright ending. It's still somewhat a draft, but here goes. Sorry it's long. I don't know how to make cuts.
I had finally convinced Lucio to make the journey to see his mother. It only took hours of convincing him that I was still early in my pregnancy and completely up for the journey.
"Yes, but are you really sure?"
"Montag Morgasson." I chided. He flushed and pursed his lips as he did whenever I called him by his full birth name. "We'll stop by to see Doctor Devorak for my check-up and then I think Asra mentioned something about a brew Mazelinka could give me that will keep me healthy."
Still, he pouted for a moment.
His bedroom door creaked open. Mercedes pushed her way in, closely followed by Melchior who had Zuzu on his back. I was so happy when Zuzu finally decided he liked one of Lucio's dogs. He still wasn't overly fond of Lucio, which he made clear by screeching at him then leaping from Melchior to my shoulder, where I fed him a piece of dried fruit.
"Well I don't like monkeys either. Ever since that time they stole cake on my picnic." Lucio stuck his tongue out at Zuzu, who threw the half eaten piece of fruit at him.
Zuzu screeched at Lucio again. I shushed them both and stroked Melchior's tattered ear. Mercedes made herself comfortable at our feet.
"Why couldn't your familiar have been a dog? Or even a snake like Asra's or a flying magical panther like that new apprentice of his? Gael, or whatever his name is."
"Don't change the subject. And I didn't choose my familiar. He chose me after I rescued him." Zuzu chittered softly in my ear. "Yes, I remember. Of course you're coming with us this time." He screeched. "Well I'm sorry you couldn't go last time because there were too many snakes." I returned my attention to Lucio, twisting so I could better face him. I pushed a few stray strands of hair up from his forehead and placed my hands on either side of his soft hair, which was now down to his shoulders. "I want to tell your mother the news in person, not by letter."
We received word shortly after defeating the Devil last year that Morga was alive and well back home. After holding off Vulgora and company for us, she immediately vacated the Palace, suffering only minor injuries. Although he still denies it, I saw visible relief on Lucio's face and in his posture when we found out.
"I just know she'll convince us to stay there until the baby is big enough to learn to fight."
"I'm willing to take that risk."
Lucio grumbled under his breath, sighed and then spoke up. "If we have to. I can't say no to you, you know that."
"I know. I'll make it worth your while before we leave." I traveled my gaze shamelessly down the front of his body. "In fact... Mercedes, Melchior, go chase something. Zuzu, unless you want to watch--" he screeched loudly and leapt onto Melchior's back.
"Why'd you do that? I was enjoying their company."
"Because..." I sent a flicker of magic to close and lock the door. "I may be pregnant with your child, but I still want you." I pushed him backwards onto the bed, where his arousal was already apparent under his white pants. I magicked our clothes away...
As I struggled to close the last of my bags, I felt Lucio press his front to my back and slip his hands beneath mine to close the clasps.
"I hope you remembered to pack enough clean socks this time because if I put anything else in this bag, it will burst." I said, finally managing to tie my bag closed.
"Of course." Lucio nodded, pushing a few stray strands of his hair back as he pecked my cheek.
"I'm glad you bought the horses. The trip won't take as long." For my birthday, Lucio had two horses imported from the far North. Both pure white. One stallion and one mare.
When he didn't say anything for a moment, I angled myself to look up at Lucio's face. I traced the faint scar on his jaw from a wound he acquired on our last adventure before finding out I was pregnant. He winced and closed his hand over mine.
"You're still very handsome."
"Oh yeah?" He grinned.
"Yeah. Even more handsome with the new scar." He flushed slightly and squeezed me tighter. After a moment...
"I'm still surprised I agreed to pose for that portrait." His gaze followed mine to the new portrait hanging beside his solo portrait.
Lucio stood proudly looking into the distance, holding me in his arms, pressed against his chest, my face upturned toward his. He had the carcass of his latest kill draped over his back. Mercedes and Melchior standing proudly at our feet.
Lucio stuck his lower lip out, pouting. "I thought that blood would never wash out. Luckily I knew a cute magician who knew a spell to clean it."
There was a sharp knock at the door.
"Enter!" Lucio called, his arms still around me.
It was Asra.
"The horses are ready to go. I'll help you carry your bags, get whatever you need in town, then I'll go with you as far as the Vesuvian border."
Though Asra had accepted that Lucio and I were together long ago, every once in a while I still saw a flash of hurt in his eyes. Just like right now, with Lucio's gauntlet across my chest and his other hand placed over my belly.
"Thanks, Asra." I said. "We'll be down shortly."
The nights grew colder the further south we traveled. The dogs slept tighter to us. On a particularly cold night, I woke up from sleep to find Lucio and Mercedes not in the tent. Melchior wagged his tail a couple times. Zuzu was fast asleep tucked into a ball beside Melchior.
"Hey good boy. Where'd they go?"
He whined and flattened his ears, turning his head toward the exit. I pulled a thick blanket over my shoulders and pulled my boots on.
"Lucio!" I called. "Mercedes!"
The full moon lit my path. I walked towards the stream near our campsite. There I found Lucio and Mercedes. Lucio was standing shirtless at the creek's edge. I noticed he hadn't bothered to attach his golden arm.
"Is it bothering you again?" I asked, lightly landing my hand atop his left shoulder.
He rolled his shoulders and sighed.
I summoned a small orb of light. His armstub was red and raw-looking.
"Why didn't you tell me it was this bad?"
"I didn't want you to worry. Ever since the arm got damaged when we fought the Devil, it just hasn't been the same."
"About that... I commissioned a new one for you that should be ready when we get back. Asra's parents still have a soft spot for me so it didn't take much convincing."
Lucio smiled wryly, clasping my hands in his. "Have I ever mentioned how awesome you are? Because you are awesome."
"You have. A few times."
"Well I'll say it again if you-- what, what are you doing?" He flinches from my touch as I summon magic to my fingertips. I place one over his lips to shush him and I let the magic wash over the stump. I smile as he moans with relief. After a moment, I let the magic fade away and press a light kiss to the healed skin. When I look up, his eyes are silver, reflecting the moonlight as he looks at me with such love, my heart swells.
"Let's get you back inside and warmed up." I toss the blanket across his bare shoulders and whistle for Mercedes to follow us. Lucio lets me hold him, with the dogs on each side of us as we drift off to sleep.
Lucio was nervous and fidgety as his homeland came into view. The dogs barked excitedly and bolted ahead of us to a hut. We continued at our leisurely pace on horseback until Morga emerged. Her smile greeting the dogs quickly vanished.
Lucio jumped off the back of his stallion and helped me off my mare.
"You need a haircut, boy." Morga gestured to his hair with her spear. Lucio flushed as he tied it back into a short ponytail.
"Talya likes it long."
"Nice to see you again." I said. "Lucio and I actually have some exciting news we wanted to tell you in person. Since last time we sent you an invite to the wedding, you didn't get it until a month after, we decided to deliver it ourselves."
There was a brief sparkle in her eyes as though she already knew. It must be her mother's intuition.
"Mother, you're going to be a grandmother. Talya is... Pregnant." He mumbled the last word, then his eyes widened. He lifted his gaze, grinned brightly at me and finally looked at his mother. "She's carrying my child."
"I was wondering when you'd produce an heir. I'm surprised it took you so long, Montag."
Lucio flushed. He jumped when Morga clapped her hand on his shoulder and pulled him in for an embrace. "I'm proud of you, son. Though for your sake, if you have a son, I pray he isn't like you."
"Not in front of Talya, please." I knew he was thinking about when he murdered his father when he was younger.
She clapped his back and released him.
"I would be honored to train my grandchild into a fierce warrior." She grinned at me.
"We were actually wondering if you'd want to come back and live in Vesuvia at the palace."
Lucio sputtered beside me. I firmly gripped his rear end to silence him.
"I'm honored, Talya. I truly am. But my place is here. Rest assured, I will visit when the time is near."
Lucio breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, now that that's settled, Talya and I will be heading back."
"No, you'll stay a few nights. The horses need a break as does your wife." Morga winked at me. I mouthed a silent thank you.
We ended up staying for a week. Morga and I went hunting so she could make the baby a blanket from the animal pelt as I listened to childhood stories of Lucio.
