I don’t need anyone
I just need everyone and then some
Today, Halsey’s third studio album Manic came out and I just finished listening to it and I already feel it made an imprint on my life? I really can’t comprehend how honest she was, like damn. I decided not to listen to any promo single after clementine was released because I wanted to fully devote myself to the album when it came out, and I’m so happy I did that. Initially, I wanted to wait until I got the Spotify exclusive vinyl, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I know Halsey wanted everyone to listen to this album a specific way so I thought I would share how I did it! I started by watching the visuals for all the singles this era and wow they are SPECTACULAR. I know Halsey is a visual queen and devotes her whole self to her music videos but wow, these were great. You can tell they all had a specific theme and a continuation, even if it’s not as poignant as it was with Hopeless Fountain Kingdom. Then, I started the album on my Apple TV and turned the lights off in my room and put on this ocean wave night light I got for Christmas and it set the mood greatly. I played the album from track 1 (Ashley) straight through track 16 (929) and I’m really blown away. I’ve always loved Halsey, she has been a prominent figure in my life since I was 13 and will continue to be forever. I started being a stan literally the night BADLANDS came out and I put everybody I knew onto her, I saw her for the first time at Madison Square Garden and it was her first show there and mine as well and I had general admission and she debuted “Closer” with the Chainsmokers that night, she became the first person I ever saw in concert twice when I saw her on the HFK tour at the Prudential Center also on the floor. She has just been there for me in these past “growing up” stages of life and I’m forever grateful; and it is seen on this album Manic that it is a story of her growing up as well. It’s an amazing way of being vulnerable and raw and honest and holding nothing back. She really did that. I mean having an Alanis Morissette feature?? Making an amazing pop punk rock 2000′s anthem? She did what she came to do! Some songs that I fucking love are Graveyard, You should be sad, I HATE EVERYBODY, 3am, Without Me (the transition from 3am to Without Me with the John Mayer voicemail was genius), Finally // beautiful stranger, killing boys, More (gave me chills, might be my favorite) and Still Learning. With Still Learning and More and I definitely know that I will listen to those songs for the rest of my life. point blank, period! Thank you for this Halsey, you know me well.
Also, I still love you Nightmare.

this is my favourite album ever i swear
used to think that loving meant a painful chase,
but you’re right here now and I think you’ll stay
I think it’s finally, finally, finally, finally safe
For me to fall
but i will literally never be as beautiful as halsey and that’s just something i have to accept
