Somehow I have strong feelings that Impulse can be a Mandalorian
(The words in the corner is his name written in Mando'a)
I’m giving myself emotional whiplash from doing a little bit of work on some Xisuma angst and then going and working on a fic where Keralis and Bishop (xB’s dog) steal xB’s couch
soooo yeah that’s how my latest writing experience has been going

amor lunae literally ended like. a day ago and yet here I am. already working on scar’s piece.
In Hermitcraft season 8, Rendog and Docm77 made a plotline called the Hermatrix, in which the events of the whole season were a simulation. In their finale videos, this simulation was shown to include every hermit. However, not every hermit considers this story to be canon to theirs. (I reblogged something about this earlier, where I mentioned how Hermitcraft can be considered 26 separate series that are filmed together and so have a lot of crossovers.)
We know that Ren and Doc’s series were all about the Hermatrix, but I think it would be interesting to consider: which other hermits might the simulation situation be canon for?
Most hermits have depicted themselves escaping the destruction caused by the moon falling, so they could show up to the next season after a long journey through space, or choose to say that they woke up in the spaceship after the simulation, it’s hard to guess. (For the hermits that didn’t depict an escape, they could also have a different explanation for having not died. Ultimately we’ll have to wait and see on this, but it’s fun to speculate!)
Joe and Cleo have confirmed that they are ignoring the Hermatrix. Xisuma has said on stream that he doesn’t really feel like doing storyline elements again in season 9, not to mention the final animation with EX maybe seemed to imply that the Moon Big situation might have been caused by something else in Xisuma’s storyline, but it’s unclear what.
Tango’s finale ended with him likely killed in space, but before that, something interesting happened: on his way to blow up redirect the moon, he encountered what appeared to be Grumbot, attacking him to try to deter him from his target. We know now that in the Hermatrix storyline, the moon crashing was a good thing, to save the hermits from the Nothing virus that had infected the season, and that Grumbot was helping run the simulation, so if the Hermatrix was canon to Tango then it would make perfect sense for Grumbot to be trying to stop Tango from stopping the moon. Grian also mentioned the simulation theory a couple of times, while editing the screen to be a bit glitchy, but this could have just been a reference to what Doc and Ren were doing.
Can anyone else think of potential evidence one way or another for any other hermits?
When yo crush says she only likes bad boys
the best hermitcraft prank imo is when in s5 the convex turned the entrance to the nho jungle into a whole jurassic park themed thing because it was just cool
annoying pranks? nah. build a bunch of dinosaurs and a cool looking door for your buddies and call it a day
I feel like we've all been collectively overlooking the potential of a body swap AU with nonhuman!Boatem (using demon!Impulse, vampire!Mumbo, avian!Grian, fae!Scar, and bat hybrid!Pearl as the most common ideas I've seen)
- Pearl is now piloting Impulse. She had no idea that Impulse was a demon previously (the Wonka hat hides the horns well) but she is absolutely going to use this knowledge and her new abilities for maximum chaos once she figures it all out
- Impulse is now Mumbo. He has this weird craving that he can't quite put his finger on. He keeps trying different types of candy from the factory, but no, that's not quite it... he'll figure it out eventually. What he decides to do with it when he does is his own problem
- Mumbo is now Pearl. He's hanging upside down from things. That's literally all he's doing. He's having the time of his life.
- Grian understands Scar a whole lot better now. This feeling, the permanent sugar rush top-of-the-world invincibility...no wonder the man plays hardcore like death is a baseless rumour. Being a human turned fae makes the mundane realities of the world feel somehow parallel to himself, like he could reach out and pick any point in the world stretched before him and grab it and make it his own. So that's... freaky. But hey, at least he has a cat to pet! Not a bad deal, in his opinion.
- Scar is. Well.
He's fine. He's got this. It's fine. :]

Whenever mumbo spills redstone on his floor he says “redecorating!” And then ignores it until someone either makes him clean it up or cleans it up themself
You know I didn’t keep up with a lot of mcyt from late 2019 to like mid 2021 so when I heard people talking about kingdomcraft and allium duos I genuinely thought that Stressmonster suddenly got very popular
Geologists in Hermitcraft actually make me sooooo happy because some of these people who build worlds are knowledgeable about how the actual world is built :D and I’m pretty sure my soft spot for Minecraft and odd interest in rocks is somewhat connected

♧Mumbo Jumbo, Grian, void, Hermitcraft Season 8, soul death (?)♧
It was dark, there was no sound but a low static noise which rang inside his head. Mumbo felt like he was floating, but there was a feeling inside his chest dragging him down and down. He couldn't find Grian. He needed to find him. He needed to be near him. But he couldn't.
He could barely see, and looking to where he assumed was up he could no longer see the bedrock that signified the bottom of the land. He was just stuck there, in the void, with a broken elytra and no Grian. Mumbo could already feel it happening. His soul- Grian's soul- was fading. He had known when he started sharing a soul with Grian that there was complications. They could feel eachothers pain, they could feel eachothers emotions, and if they were far from eachother for too long then their soul would start to fade and eventually disappear, leaving them both as empty husks.
Mumbo knew this would happen eventually after he got separated from Grian in the void. He knew it had started when he slowly lost the ability to talk, to shout, to scream for Grian to come back to him. And now he knew he wouldn't last much longer, his skin was getting paler and colder, and no doubt Grian's was too.
Why did this have to happen to us so soon?
That was his last thought before everything faded away.
Miles away from eachother, Grian and Mumbo were now just falling husks of their former selves.
this is canon, grian told me himself
