Kairiki Bear has been around for some time now and Kanaria rose to the top with his hit song KING (which is an absolute banger listen to it and all the covers of it they are all amazing)
I was looking at the MVs for KING and their new song Envy Baby, and then Venom by Kairiki Bear come on and I noticed that the MV styles are actually really similar. They both have a still picture whose expression changes throughout the video and the same kind of lyrics. The coloring is a bit different but its still the same kind of MV. So Kanaria might have taken inspiration from Kairiki Bear.
I think thats really cool. We have these musicians who became famous and inspired other people to try their hand at the music scene and I think its incredible. Heck, the popularity of KING led Kanaria to release an entire freaking album (which I haven’t listened to yet but I have plans to)
I don’t listen to many of Kanaria’s songs so I don’t know for sure if they have a style, but Kairiki Bear’s one is very obvious if you listen to a few of their songs. During the holidays UraShimaSakataSen put out a Christmas song and in the first 30 seconds I’m like wait…this sounds an awful lot like Kairiki Bear and would ya look at that Kairiki Bear arranged the songs. He also works with Mafumafu a lot, like with the Chinese New Year song Mao.
What I’m trying to say is that Kanaria’s style is developing and he’s probably one of the rookies in the Vocaloid music community with the most potential, in my opinion. I would listen to more of his songs but I just don’t like Gumi. But his arranging is amazing, I can tell you that from listening to multiple covers of KING and Envy Baby. Feel free to disagree with my opinion; I actually need people to debate about vocaloid with lol
EDIT: Forgot to put this in but Kairiki Bear’s songs are awesome too so go check them out! The style he arranges in is unique and refreshing in my opinion. SOme of my favorites are Venom, Angel, Luma, and Mao
