"Win doesn't know I'm doing this, and… hell, if she ever finds it she'll think it's morbid and I'll just delete it, but…" George frowns and looks off into the distance. "Maybe I'll delete it myself. But I can't--shake the feeling. … Just a feeling."
"Darlin'--" he starts, a whisper, and Jim shakes his head furiously. "I wanna see, Bones," he whispers determinedly, but he's gripping Leonard's hand hard enough to bruise.
content warnings: Mentions of Jim being abused by Frank, and a panic attack. The entire piece is focused on Jim grieving George, which might make it tough if parental death is a trigger for you. 💙
A(nother) McKirk fill for @leonardmccoybingo, this one for the prompt movie night. Yes, I took what is typically a fluff prompt and made it sad. (Yes, I also gently filched this idea from TNG 4x02, "Family". It was my favorite episode, so... there you go.)
Lastly, thank you all so much for the enthusiastic support you gave your hands can heal, your hands can bruise. I've really been blown away by your comments and reblogs and words can't express what it's meant to me to receive such a wonderful response.
I like this scene a lot. McCoy wasn’t on the bridge so he isn’t aware of all current circumstances, so he blames Kirk for another death (and possibly more to come).
But then Spock explains
SPOCK: It turned and attacked, Doctor. Its method was well-considered and intelligent.
and confirms everything that Kirk claimed to be true. And it coming from Spock, who was, like McCoy, doubtful of Kirk’s words and his command decisions, is big because if now Spock believes Kirk was telling the truth and the creature is indeed intelligent, McCoy can accept that. He doesn’t doubt Spock’s words at all. He quietly accepts them and apologizes to Kirk.
MCCOY: I'm sorry, Jim. I was wrong.
#tos nonsense#Leonard McCoy#spock #but also i love all the rare scenes where mccoy and kirk argue and spock's the 'mediator' #it's here in the dagger of the mind and in friday's child (well those are those i remember from the top of my head) #there might be more (or also not lol because it is rare)
More high school au!! This one’s for both Bones and Spock!
I love these two sooo much, I just- fjsiwjdb
I imagine that how they meet at school is through their friend groups (mainly with Nyota and Christine being girlfriends).
They meet in study hall and Leonard strikes up a conversation with Spock because the kid’s mostly stayed quiet while the others chatted loudly amongst themselves. They start to form a sort of friendship—a bond.
The next day they end up just making one big friend group, with other friends joining them as well. Spock and Bones are now seeing more of each other.
They would banter here and there, but no harm done (because basically their oblivious flirting idiots). Everyone else is beginning to wonder when they’ll finally cut the crap and get together already.
So for a long time, my sister's cat has done this thing where she shakes her head at people when they walk into the room. She doesn't do it every time but often enough to pique my curiosity. I looked it up on google and according to what I read, cats do that as a sort of acknowledgment of your presence. Basically like a friendly hello. Now I think the idea of Jim or Bones or whoever saying hi to Spock and then in response he just fucking whips his head around at them is very good.
