Also because Red faced immense trauma by losing the love of his life and wasn’t a big talker in the movie anyways so it wouldn’t be impossible to believe after the events of that film he would cease talking altogether. He’s trying to just get away from everything, driving endlessly, hits the trap in the road, takes a job to get his car fixed and take his mind off things. It also would explain why he wouldn’t be phased by robots trying to kill him and possibly since his love was killed by a religious cult might trigger that familiar rage seeing another religious cult killing innocent people. Then the movie ends with him saving a girl with long dark hair much like Mandy’s and driving off into the sunset together.

“Come here for a sec,” Patrick said, staring at his computer. David joined Patrick at the table and stared at him, waiting for an explanation.
“Remember Alex?” Patrick asked, and pointed to the screen, where he had a spreadsheet open. “I think he’s scamming us.” David’s heart dropped, as visions of Revenue storming his family’s mansion and taking everything from them played in his mind.

Rose Apothecary has been open for five years. In those five years, Patrick and David have never run into any issues with their vendors. Until they do.*
