Penthouse premier sesion 3
Finally watched the second episode of penthouse 3
Still not enough yoonhee :/ but it's pretty obvious she's not really betraying suryeon
bae rona standing up to ju dantae and killing her audition 🥰
loving all ssr scenes, I think lee ji ah does the mix between suryeon/na aegyo type of character really well
seokhoon said f*ck the system 🤘
idk if it's because I have too much undeserved faith in him but I'm not buying yoonchul's little act. especially since jeni's dad who hates jdt is the one who got him out of jail. I felt for him though, this man's lack of self respect does sth to me 😔
Now the things I didn't like
I feel like the plot is going all over the place, much more than usual, idk how they'll keep it up for 13 episodes like there were some pretty useless and boring scenes...
Alex Lee 🤦♀️ even if you ignore the elephant in the room, it's still pretty ridiculous. if he loved his brother so much why didn't he volunteer to give him some bone marrow? I was never a big logan fan bc I found a lot of his scenes cringy but we've reached new heights.
a lot of plot holes, sometimes I feel like they forgot season 1? when was yoonchul ever the brain of the hera club? ju dantae had these men following him like dogs. why would jdt let himself be fooled by so many people pretending they're not here for revenge? he's always been one step ahead of everyone. I am by no means a fan of jdt even if I enjoy uhm ki joon's acting, but he was a little dumbed down this episode so I had a hard time believing some of the things that were happening.
I still couldn't care less about real jdt

K dramas of 2021 didn’t come to play around. The first of of 2021 was the best half I have seen in kdrama land.
since we got the yves jinsoul teasers from d version all i can think about is how good haseul is gonna look in hers
With only six and a half months left of 2021, it’s time to get serious about my drama watching habits. I’m so behind and there are several things that are (supposed to be) coming out in the later part of the year. So, here is my list of things that I want to start/am interested in. Granted, some of these things may change as more information comes out about them. Or I may just decide not to watch them. And some may get pushed back into 2022.
Lucifer: season 5b (USA) - Though the first half of season five left us on a cliffhanger, I just cannot seem to sit myself down to finish out the season. It may be the mixed reactions of long time fans or the knowledge that season six is the last, either way, I’m having a hard time getting back into the show.
Youth of May: (South Korea) - This romantic, moody, slice-of-life drama. I was waiting for it.The ending is going to break my heart, so I have to be ready for it. I hear the preformances are amazing, but I know I’ll be crying.
Word of Honor: (China) - Everything I’ve heard about this drama makes it sound amazing. And while I know things will be heartbreaking - I just need to prepare.
Doom at Your Service: (South Korea) - I watched the first four episodes (I think?), but I am waiting to binge it after it ends. Why? The first few episodes were so good, I want to be able to watch it all at once.
The Penthouse: War in Life, Season 3: (South Korea) - I was super excited for this one...then I heard about Logan’s “brother” and, uh...maybe I’ll just watch the clips of my favorites?
Mad for Each Other: (South Korea) - I know very little about this drama, but it looks amazing and I’m hearing good things.
Mine: (South Korea) - So, it sounds like two daughter-in-laws of a rich family work together to get what they want. It looks good.
My Roomate is a Gumiho: (South Korea) - It just looks fluffy and adorable. And I need that.
Ancient Love Poetry: (China) - It just sounds sweet and sad and I love a good Chinese drama that will make me smile and eat up the angst.
Nevertheless: (South Korea) - Honestly? The Netflix trailer looked interesting.
The New Version of the Condor Heroes: (China) - I love this story and the 2014 one was a hotmess. The promo pictures look good, though they were released in 2018. Rumor is the drama has been shelved, but we’ll see what happens.
The Devil Judge: (South Korea) - You have Ji Sung staring in a dystopian drama, where he is the as the head judge of the highest court in the land. The court has become a TV reality show, with viewers invited to participate in a live. The one person looking to take him down is Kim Min Jung as the director of a corporate social responsibility foundation. And then you have two childhood friends: Park Jin Young and Park Gyu Young, idealist who want to make their world better. I look forward to Ji Sung and Kim Min Jung battling it out, and maybe corrupting the idealist cop and younger judge.
Boku no Satsui ga Koi wo Shita: (Japan) - This one may not ever get English subtitles, as Japanese dramas aren’t really subbed anymore...however, the story sounds amazing. A young man finds out his dead foster-father was a professional killer and this young man decides to take up the “family business” to avenge for the father. The young man approaches a womanwho is his assassination target. Despite his skill as a hitman, he can’t ever kill her, not matter how hard he tries. Instead, he ends up protecting her and the two fall in love. This could go so many places and I want to see it.
Red Sky: (South Korea) - A beautiful and genius painter meets a blind officer in charge of astronomy, geography, art of divination, and meteorology. The two fall in love. And it’s marked as a “historical romantic fantasy”? Yes, please!
The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff: (South Korea) - The story of Sung Deok Im, a court lady. She catches the eye of Crown Prince Lee San. Once the prince becomes king, he wants Sung Deok Im to become his concubine, but she refuses. Yet, Sung Deok Im becomes the concubine of King Jeongjo. This could be angsty. Also, it stars Lee Jun Ho (who you may remember from Just Between Lovers) and Lee Se Young (who always brings it).
December: (or 2022...?)
Twenty-Five Twenty-One (South Korea) - The love story of two people, who have really bad-timing, told over the period of four years. Personally, I’m hoping for a poignant human drama ala Just Between Lovers or Come And Hug Me. (Minus death and murders),
Return: (South Korea) - This is literally described as: “A fantasy drama about the stories of young magicians who deal with heavenly spirits.” It will be on tvN, which usually has really solid dramas. There is a cast of talented up-and-comers: Lee Jae Wook, Arin, Park Hae Eun, and Hwang Min Hyun. There are also some talented vets in the cast: Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, and Joo Sang Wook. It’s beingdirected by Park Joon Hwa Everything looks great on paper. It’s just - the drama will be written by the Hong Sisters. During my early days of Kdrama viewing (way back in the mid 2010s), these ladies wrote some of my favorites. And while I did love Hotel de Luna and A Korean Odyssey - it has become very clear over the years that these writers don’t do well during the second halves of their dramas and they aren’t always great at endings.
Snowdrop (South Korea) - It takes place in 1987, and follows students at a prestigious university in Seoul. It will be written by Yoo Hyun Mi, who wrote SKY Castle and The Bridal Mask. I’m looking forward to it, even though I heard there was pushback (which has resulted in the show airdate being moved back a couple of times) from the South Korean citizens' who believe that the drama distorts facts related to the pro-democracy movement of the 1980s in favour of the authoritarian regime. This was based on an incomplete version of the plotline that had been leaked online, which describes one character as a “spy” and another lead as working for the NSP. We’ll see
At Some Point in 2021/early 2022...?:
The Witcher, Season Two
The Umbrelllla Academy, Season Three
The Boys, Season Three

Moving into Hera Palace and choosing not to befriend the rich kids
Request: Yes or No
The rich kids don't have a group name so that's what I'll call em. I did some research so hopefully it's good. There seem to be different spellings for the names so imma just stick with one and go with it. Since in the show they speak english occasionally this will mean they're speaking english.
TW: Suicide mention
You stared out the window, a soft sigh leaving you as you watched the buildings and cars pass by. You turned your head, looking at your mother.
"Why couldn't I have stayed with dad?" You asked. Your mother let out a sigh of her own, looking away from her phone.
"I know you don't like traveling but you need to get in touch with your Korean roots. You were born and raised here for a while. Don't you miss it?" She reached out, gently touching your cheek.
"Just stay here for a bit and if you don't like it.. I'll get you a ticket back to the states." She offered a small smile before looking back at her phone. The car pulled into the parking lot. The driver got out, opening the doors for you and your mother. He got the luggage out with help from the Hera Palace employees. You walked inside, humming softly as you took in the interior design.
"Wouldn't expect less from Joo Dan Tae." Your mother muttered, giving a small nod of approval. You walked into the lobby, seeing Su Ryeon and her family waiting. Su Ryeon gave a wide smile, walking forward and embracing your mother.
"(M/N), it's been so long! We have so much to catch up on." Su Ryeon breathed out, leaning back and gazing fondly at your mother. She shifted her attention onto you, smiling and placing a gentle hand on your arm.
"How have you been, (Y/N)?" She asked, head tilting.
"I've been good, thanks for asking." You gave a small smile. You enjoyed Su Ryeons' company. Unlike her husband and children, she was kind and genuine. You dropped the smile upon noticing Joo Dan Tae and the twins. You felt your mother nudge you and give a pointed look.
"(M/N), (Y/N), welcome to Hera Palace. I hope it suits your tastes." Joo Dan Tae said, giving his typical business smile. He handed you and your mother the cards that would allow you to access the resident elevators and such. Seok Kyung looped her arm around yours.
"We'll show you to your place." She smiled, pulling you away from the adults. Her brother gave an apologetic look as he followed.
"How was the US?" Seok Kyung asked, turning to look at you. You licked your lips, resisting the urge to turn around and ask for plane tickets back.
"It was fine." You replied, entering the elevator. Seok Kyung hummed, putting in the floor number where your apartment was.
"Will you be joining us Cheong-Ah Arts High School?" Seok Hoon asked softly. You turned your head, looking at him.
"No, I won't. I'll be doing online school. I was never interested in classical singing like the rest of you." You answered, looking forward as the elevator doors opened. A woman and a girl stood on the other side. The woman blinked in surprise before bowing her head in greeting.
"Good evening." She greeted.
"Bae Ro Na, this is (Y/N), an old friend of ours." Seok Kyung said as she stepped out of the elevator. Bae Ro Na smiled sweetly.
"Nice to meet you."
"I'm Bae Ro Nas' mother, Oh Yoon Hee." Oh Yoon Hee gave a small smile of her own, shaking your hand.
"Are you gonna be staying on our floor?" Bae Ro Na asked. You nodded, feeling Seok Kyungs fingers tighten on your arm. It seemed like the friendship between her and Bae Ro Na was fake, at least on Seok Kyungs behalf.
"My mother is most likely with Ms. Shim downstairs in the lobby. I hope we can get along as neighbors." You glanced between them. Oh Yoon Hee and Bae Ro Na seemed relieved.
"Thank you. See you around." Oh Yoon Hee smiled gently, ushering her daughter into the elevator that Seok Hoon had prevented from leaving. Seok Kyung scoffed softly once the elevator doors closed.
"Su Ryeon wanted them to move in. They're nobodies." Seok Kyung explained, pulling you towards your apartment door. You opened the door, entering and looking around. Your mother had the furniture moved in before you had arrived.
"You can join us later tonight at the lounge. We should let you rest." Seok Hoon said, pulling his sister away from you. Seok Kyung finally released your arm, nodding.
"Jenny, Eun Byeol, and-"
"I'll have to pass. I have things to unpack and I want to get settled in." You cut her off, licking your lips. Seok Kyung blinked.
"Oh, well, maybe some other time?"
"I saw the video where you and your friends bullied that girl. The one who went on to commit suicide. For the sake of my family's reputation, I'll have to pass on any hangouts. I have zero tolerance for bullies and frankly, I hung out with you when I was a child because it was what my parents wanted. Now, if you could please leave, I'd appreciate it." You motioned towards the door. The twins stared at you in surprise. Seok Kyungs jaw clenched, spinning around and leaving.
"Thank you for walking me here. I'll see you around." You said, giving Seok Hoon a nod.
"If you change your mind, let us know." Seok Hoon said, stepping outside. You shut the door, letting out a sigh of relief. You heard a muffled stomp and grunt. Seok Kyung was still throwing tantrums despite being a teenager. You walked towards the couch, plopping down on it and staring up at the ceiling.
"I just have to stay long enough to satisfy mom and then I'll head back."
