11 June 2021 | Queen Mathilde of Belgium visits the École de Cirque in Brussels, Belgium. The Queen participates in the HandiCirque workshop, a circus workshop for children and adults with disabilities. The École de Cirque de Bruxelles receives about fifteen groups from different institutions every week. The Queen also attended the rehearsal of students in training. This training aims at a methodological, didactic and creative approach to the circus arts and trains future trainers in motor skills and creativity. The Queen will meet with students from the nursing course who were involved in the intensive care in various hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic. Queen Mathilde will listen to the experiences of the young adults and the impact the coronavirus crisis had on their education. Queen Mathilde will also visit two simulation rooms where students and caregivers learn to put their skills into practice.
