Zoey's extraordinary Mysterie

What a great episode. I think top 3 this season. It had everything, it was so funny, sad, it had mysteries, great guest character and the cast was amazing.

I have to admit I had never been such a fan of Alice Lee or Emily but her acting was so amazing. I felt with her every second.

Skylar Astin is my acting and singing hero this seasin. With "Say something", "Numb" and "Anyone" he has the tripple of amazing emotional songs in a season. It is never cheese or unreal. You can feel his characters pain and it is pleasure to simply watch it.

The idea with switched heartsongs is great. It was a fun to connect the songs to the right people. And I have a strong opinion that it isn't that unimportant who is connected to whom.

Maggie sings the song from the brogrammers. She is Zoey's mother and it is a very childish song, like the people at SPRQpoint are sometimes. Zoey is kind of their mother too in her position as her boss. The mother and the kids are connected. And the brogrammers can fight cause they are not lonely like Maggie. The one who is lonely is singing a duett by herself.

Mo and Rose are both singing about their problems. Rose about her addiction with alcohol and how hart it is and Mo is singing about to go away from a man. Mo, who has always problems when he has the feeling it could get messy, dumbs Perry because his kids are his priority. Like he dumped Eddie for taking that cruiseship job.

Simon and August singing about the things they love. August loves the fox and Simon loves Zoey and that he is afraid to loose her. Kind of August is afraid of loosing the fox cause he means a lot to him.

So and here we are, the end and the beginning of all that. Maybe it is my shipperheart, maybe it is the truth, but I believe there is a reason why Max is the one who startet all that and that he is the one who sang that song from Emily. Max and Zoey have a deep connection for years and it is not easy for Max that Zoey can see into his soul. But through Max she can see the pain from Emily. And maybe both songs are seem to be the complete oppossite, but "Rosanna" isn't a happy song at all. Just the first lines. The rest you can read like how he feels about his relationship to Zoey. Just change names. I still believe they are endgame and to choose Max for singing that song, it meant something. And maybe it is just me, but what his heartsong was she finds out at the end and she wasn't that happy. And maybe all that will help her to get finally get the help Zoey so badly needed and find her way back to Max.

I always love episodes about friendships and Zoey and Mo as Sherlock and Watson and the mysterie of the switched songs was fun to watch. And I loved Mo's board. 😂

I didn't like Mo's childish behavoir because of Perry leaving. His kids will always be his priority and if he can't handle that it is better to let Perry go but not that way. It isn't Perry's fault. He is a dad and dads care.

All the music was on top. All numbers were great. Each for different reasons.

And I know, it is because I am Team Max all the way, but I can't see the whole Zoey and Simon stuff. It doesn't feels right to me. And that she doesn't told him about her powers proofs we right.

And I think it is kind of odd she is in bed with Simon and Max's ring is perfectly in the picture.

And how Zoey and Max talked about how mature and great they talk about theire dates is the complete oppossite of what they said. They are idiots. But I am really happy they show their friendship.

I liked Rose gets two more things to put on her list for a character. She likes counry music and had a drinking problem. Maybe when she left she is a whole character. 🥳

The Medium was a great guest character. Loved her. Would be cool to see her again.

There are only two things who I think were not that good. That Emily is the person was kind of in your face. It wasn't a surprise at all. And maybe it had to be awesome when it had been Zoey who sang the sad heartsong.

OH MY LORD THAT WAS A PHENOMENAL EPISODE.

I’m not even gonna try to go chronologically I just have so many Emotions

I have to join that elite woodworking club so I can handcraft an emmy and personally deliver it to Alice Lee

this was the first time that the emotion of a heartsong overtook the production value, and it was the perfect one to do so-the performance was completely raw and real and it affected me so much

only this show can have me crying with laughter (JCS also gets one of my handcrafted emmys) and crying with sympathy in the span of an hour

also side note right while I was writing this I got the email that my attack magic shirt just shipped!!! I’m about to get a painted bunting!!! wooooooo!!!!

speaking of anyone, Skylar’s performance was also incredible-the best songs on this show are often the ones that are sung live, and, again, vulnerable and raw and real and AHHHHH

I loved the new insight we got into Rose’s character

the glitch in the title card was fabulous

the maximo’s set is just stunning, I keep being reminded of that

that opening scene was legitimately the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen

they were so cute this episode I simply cannot (although I feel like the other shoe is about to drop and I’m Very Scared)

while we’re on the zimon topic ZOEY MA’AM I SWEAR IF YOU DON’T TELL HIM I WILL BREAK THROUGH THE SCREEN AND YOU AND I WILL HAVE A TALK

not even only to yell at her about it. I just want to talk to her, I think we’d be good friends

given that their whole relationship started when she heard his first heartsong and was built off of that point and now she kept it from him AGAIN when she had a PERFECT CHANCE and he would have been VERY OPEN-MINDED...I’m scared yall I love them so much and don’t want them to hurt, I love them together and while I understand why Zoey wouldn’t want to ruin it it would be ruined even more if she kept lying

Mary Steenburgen duetting with herself is everything I never knew I needed (and now I want to see Kap and Morgan do that number too)

the choreo for One absolutely slapped, I’m still living for the McTobin banter, and the costumes were impeccable (Kenzie’s tights!! Tobin’s sweatshirt!! the return of The Classic L.D. Tight Pants™️!!)

Marvin is adorable. I wouldn’t be surprised if nbc started selling those stuffed foxes as merch (and yes I would buy one)

I’m so invested in Mo and Perry’s relationship at this point (although I always have been)

turns out my favorite type of country music is Alex Newell country music

the message of this episode, flawlessly delivered by one of my favorite new characters, is so incredibly touching and needed and beautifully pulled off

and, as always, all the little one-liners and character moments were fantastic; Zoey at the science center, Mo’s crime drama obsession, the furby anatomy room, etc

Jane’s facial expressions were off the CHARTS, this woman is seriously everything I want to be as an actress and a person

this episode was just utterly phenomenal in every way as always; can’t wait for more (although I am Scared but hopefully things end up okay)

Zoey's extraordinary Birthday

I was thinking about not to write something about that episode. Should I laugh because of the wrong reason or should I be mad because of the right reason? I still don't know.

But first the good things.

I loved Aiden's song and David's reaction was priceless. First I was not a fan of Aiden and the drug storyline is still one of the weakest the show ever had but with David he makes fun. And I kind of feel sorry for him. But at least Zoey knows it was real.

"Kiss me" was beautiful. I love that song and when they used it at "Baby Daddy" I was kind of mad cause it spoiled the song a little bit. That version is on my phone so I can hear it again and again.

Tobin and Mackenzie are pure gold and so cute. At least I hope they don't spoil them.

David is such a fun character this season. I love to hear Andrew Leeds singing.

Both Max and Zoey scenes were superb. I totally understand Max. Zoey just want an excuse to hook up with Simon and his worst nightmare came true. Thanks for that. But his birthday present was so sweet and it gives me all the hopes like theire mature talk. And like I said, they still on pause they just have the rule they can do whatever they want with other people. I think it's stupid.

And I am sorry to admit but I liked the duett from Max and Rose. The choreo was brilliant. Everyone is talking about Simon and Zoey but this was the better one. Except Katie Findley can't sing. And I loved Zoey's reaction. She was sooo jeleaous.

Mo and Perry. I really hope we will see his kids. That could be so cute.

And here are the things I don't like.

First of all I think Rose is just there. She hasn't really a character. She seems to be nice but that's all. So I stick to my words. She is just there to be an excuse for Zoey to hook up with Simon.

And here is the weakest link in that whole episode. All that Simon stuff comes kind of the blue. When did that happen? This akward flirting about Simon's pants last week should lead to that? It seems like they don't want Max and Zoey to happen and reminded that Simon was an option for Zoey. I could be ok when Zoey wants to be clear about her feelings for Simon and if that would be something that happened before, but they build up this friendship, he was fine Zoey chooses Max and found Tatiana. I could cry about that missed opportunity to make him and her a couple. For me she is a perfect match for him. And for all we know it won't last at all. This is just another obstacle for Zoey and Max and not the dream endgame for team Simon. It's not fair for any team. And I don't make that up, it is obvious when you read the interviews with Austin Winsberg about Max and Zoey.

It could have been a great episode but they do to much mistakes and mess with the whole storyline. I really wished they had sticked to theire words that Zoey made a choice and the triangle is over. So it is just a mess and can coast the show a third season.
