2It’s crazy how your viewing experience of the film changes as you age. You like different parts, notice new things, may not connect to aspects you liked when you were a child but now you connect to something new.
On a whim I decided to watch Tarzan (1999) today (for the first time in, like, seven years) and my first though during the intro was:
“He looks just like his father.”
(And then I burst into tears 😅)

Tarzan and Jane
Watched Tarzan with the family lately. Wanted to draw a sketch for it, and I flubbed up Tarzan early on. So much so that traced over my original sketch, redid the face, cut that out, and glued it on the original lol.

0I would’ve loved to see this! Tarzan is my favorite Disney movie, tied with The Little Mermaid. I love his character and the songs.
2Someday I’m going to make a post analyzing the lead-in to the final battle of Disney’s Tarzan but I can’t quite do it now.
But if you happen to catch the movie, watch for the beats. Watch how three gorillas get captured, snap-snap-snap, and then Tarzan jump on three elephants, jump-jump-jump. Watch the coordination between vines and whips.
I don’t even know what it was that they did there but they DID IT.
