Another question at him, huh? Well, as the one in charge here today, it was his job to answer, so he thinks for a moment on how to respond. He looks thoughtful for a moment, considering how he should do so, before he decides on something and speaks!
“Breaking the charm should function just like anything else you do to them. You all should be able to figure out how that works from what you’ve said already, right? I’m sure you can figure it all out!”
Ah, so he was going with a Hint there then rather than an explicit answer, even if he had confirmed at least a bit there.

Ah, another question to him! Treat smiles at Elle and answers her question easily.
“No, in the case that there are two culprits and one gets away, they will not be punished! In fact, they’ll actually be rewarded for getting away with murder according to the rules, ahah. No one will be pushed for not catching them, but they’ll still get the other perks! I hope that answers your question!”
Perhaps you were granted extra time to investigate due to the length of time it took to traverse the cave tunnels, but the investigation period felt like it took AGES to get through. Far longer than you’d expect to have to investigate, for certain. What time was it? … About 10? The hours blurred together, especially for those of you who hadn’t slept much. Emotionally and mentally exhausted, you heard…. Treat’s voice beam into your minds, rather than Trick’s.
“Okay everyone, time’s just about up for the investigation! Meet back at the dorm area’s classroom like usual. The trial will start in about 20 minutes! That should be enough time to head back.”
… Well that was unusual. This was the first time Treat ever spoke to you in such a format, and it was just a little bit of a whiplash. Maybe the extra time wasn’t as intended as you were thinking, not that you weren’t grateful for it.
Treat might have gone easier on you than Trick would if you were late, but there was no guarantee that Trick wasn’t present, either. Thus, you wrapped up what you were doing and began to walk back to the classroom, footsteps echoing and bouncing off of the tunnel walls, 8 less pairs than there should have been in all.
Pulling the classroom door open, you entered to see the round circle desk set-up already in place, and Treat and Trouble standing at the Teacher’s desk. Trick was nowhere to be found, at least in the moment. Yet… Everything was still in place, as you expected it to be. You took your seat, getting a good look at the newly added Erika and Amelia dolls placed where the two once sat.
“Wow, there are a lot less people now, huh…? At least none of you are coming in poisoned this time though!”
…That was a hilariously low bar to clear, but he congratulated you anyways, apparently trying to keep positive through this. Beside him, Trouble seemed to mope unhappily, looking more saddened (for a cat) than she had during any of the previous cases despite the lack of Trick here. Treat gave her a small smile of reassurance before looking back at you all to give a final explanation.
“Alright then! I told some of you already, but I’ll be the one running the trial for today while Ms. Trick rests. The normal rules of the trial still apply like the last times, though I’ll say that you’ll only be voting for one killer here despite there being two deaths. Which doesn’t mean that they definitely have the same killer by the way! Just that you’ll only need to pick one, so keep that in mind.”
He paused for a moment, thinking about if there was anything else he needed to tell you (or perhaps speaking with Trouble mentally), before apparently deciding that that was all for now. He gave you all a last smile!
“Ok! And with that, we’re ready to start, so… Good luck everyone!”
Treat and Trouble both took their seats, and the trial began!
