On having and achieving big dreams
Many people have big dreams, for example some people might wanna be rockstars or backpack through exotic places.
However, do they really love doing those stuff?
Most people like the end goal. When people think of rockstars they think of fame and money but rarely do people think of the years of practice and sleeping in trailers playing small gigs in random places with little to no money.
Same goes for backpacking. It's not just about meeting new people and learning new things. A big part of it is meeting dangerous people, sometimes having no money and most importantly leaving the good friends you make to move to a different place.
How many people are actually willing to put that effort or give what they have up for it?
Loving something is not about the end goal, it's about the journey. You've gotta love the journey with its good and bad and you have to be ready for it. Only then will people be able to achieve what they want and not quit midway.
That's the difference between having a dream and achieving it. So next time you think you wanna do something big, think about the journey. Ask yourself: "Am I willing to make that journey or do I just like the end goal?"
