Audrey Hepburn et Gregory Peck dans “Vacances romaines”, sorti le 23 août 1953
She is the original Manic Pixie Dream Girl - a trope I simply cannot stand. Now for the few that may not know, a MPDG is a female character whose main purpose within the narrative is to inspire a greater appreciation for life in a male protagonist. The term was coined in 2007 by Nathan Rabin, but he has since ‘disowned’ the term. Regardless, Audrey Hepburn solely plays this trope to the point I cannot tell any of her characters apart. Hell, her picture is right there under the term in the trope dictionary! I honestly don’t know how I haven’t realized it till now.
“On May 27, 2008, Canada Post will launch three Commemorative stamps to celebrate Karsh’s Centenary. The stamps will feature his 1956 portrait of Audrey Hepburn, and his 1941 portrait of Winston Churchill, and a self-portrait.”
