to those asking to hear the jamie bell story…
I was actually grocery shopping when I saw him. It was during awards season last year, so he was probably in town to promote Rocketman. He was trying to be incognito (hat, leather jacket, jeans, etc.) but he wasn’t wearing sunglasses… which made sense, as it was indoors and at night. I noticed him pretty immediately by his ears, then his eyes. I don’t think he was with anybody but he was definitely in a rush. I walked by him and we made eye contact, he kind of looked at me like “please don’t say anything”. I nodded. We parted.
That is the Jamie Bell story.

Here is the big question all outgoing (as in love going out) Angelenos - especially event planners - want to know: when can we start hosting and attending special events and parties again? Is it safe (like, really safe) to do so?
The good news is that we may finally be getting an answer, thanks to Debbie Durkin, LA’s leading sustainable creative producer and one of the nation’s leading awards-season event experts.
Ms. Durkin decided to show the way for LA - and the rest of the country - by producing a fun and innovative drive-thru (yes, DRIVE thru!) EcoLuxe Lounge and Endless Summer Festival in Honor of the annual Primetime TV Awards. This unique and creative drive-thru event (arguably the only one of its kind during TV awards season) took place in front of the iconic Beverly Hilton Hotel on the Friday before the 2020 Emmys.
By utilizing a safe and groundbreaking Drive-Thru concept, the 14th annual EcoLuxe Endless Summer Festival was able to take place (honoring TV award nominees and featuring actors, directors, producers, VIP talent, and select media as attendees), while other events planned for TV Awards Week were either postponed or cancelled.
The eco-friendly luxury event, honoring California Firefighters, featured several innovative sponsors, including:
§ Meraki Allure
§ MO Eyewear
§ KOZ Water
§ John Paul Pet Products
…and last but not least…
§ The Beverly Hilton Hotel Celebrity Brunch-in-a-box To-GO!
In case you were wondering, this EcoLuxe event was very safe, with strict rules for mask wearing and distancing. The drive thru aspect made sure no one was crowding the exhibit booths. Attendees spent most of the time in their cars, and hopped out briefly at each booth to meet exhibitors (at a distance) and get some cool gifts.
One of the exhibitors (Meraki Allure) even made special EcoLuxe branded facemasks especially for the event, for all attendees to enjoy (combining comfort and protection in one stylish mask).
While the cars may have been moving slowly, Debbie is hoping the event industry will start moving faster, in the sense of starting to do more live events – as long as proper safety measures are followed. As Debbie explained, “I don’t want to live the rest of my life behind a computer monitor. We set precedent for the rest of our nation to get back to business by #EventResponsibly - I licensed that hashtag!”
Ms. Durkin’s event honored California Firefighters. While they were unable to attend due to battling the ongoing fires, event posters (displayed prominently in the driveway as attendees drove through) included the hashtag #thankyoufirefighters, and attendees were encouraged to use that hashtag in their social media posts.

I have honestly been waiting to shout DELUSIONS! at someone ever since seeing this film (spoilers in the video).
Next week is October and in a pre-Covid - 19 world it would be the starting line of the Oscar race. Due to the pandemic everything from eligibility to short-listing to official voting has been pushed back. Any film that was to have a theatrical release between January 1, 2020 to Feb. 28, 2021 is qualified. I don’t know if THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME was intended for a theatrical release, but at least in L.A., Netflix does put the majority of their films in two theaters, even films no one gives a damn about like TRIPLE FRONTIER.
But I hope they had a theatrical release planned for THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME because it is an Oscar worthy film filled with incredible performances and indelible sorrow and poignancy.
One Netflix film that is getting a theatrical release is Aaron Sorkin’s Oscar bait-y, true story THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 starring recent Emmy winners Jeremy Strong and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eddie Redmayne, Mark Rylance and Sacha Baron-Cohen,
Happy Awards Season, y’all!
OH MY GOD, DAVID!

Congratulations to Lisa Parasyn and Jon Comerford!
Andrew Scott’s red carpet looks during awards season 2019-2020 is one of the BEST thing that had happened so far.
Nothing should surprise me when it comes to the BAFTAs, after all this is the same body that failed to nominate Richard Madden for his work on THE BODYGUARD, but I am surprised : both pleasantly and not so pleasantly.
The good? Nominations for Callum Turner for THE CAPTURE and Will Sharpe for GIRI/HARI
But bewildered by the lack of nomination for fan favorite Andrew Scott for his role as (Hot) Priest in series two of FLEABAG. I thought they would be all over HIS DARK MATERIAL and Ruth Wilson’s performance or even her work on her passion project MRS. WILSON. The latest season of PEAKY BLINDERS was its strongest and recent years and still, nothing.

SOMEONE FROM THE ‘PARASITE’ CAST IS A ‘VEEP’/JLD STAN AND I NEED TO KNOW WHO IT WAS
This is beautiful 🤗
