Homemade Rolls Attempt # 1: Semi-Success

Our housewarming party is in a few weeks, so I’m trying out some new recipes. Today’s experiment was a hot chocolate cheesecake. 🍫

Sorry for not doing anything Romantics related this week…or other stuff I promised people. This took (like every year) longer than I thought xD But there is a good chance that those will last till Christmas and I don’t have to look at an oven until next year.
13i love my mum, she’s literally the most precious human being on this planet. Today she wanted to bake us all a nice apple cake and thought she was going to do something a little fancy and put some lemon zest in it. She plooped it in the oven and about 45 minutes later it was smelling real nice so she took it out and set it on the cooling rack. She was so excited, she even got out the fancy knife.
Couple minutes later, she went,
“Did I do something wrong with the lemon? It tastes weird.”
I walked over and sampled some of the cake, only to immediately spit it out by reflex.
I turn to my mum with a completely deadpan face and say,
“Did you use salt or sugar?”
That look of confusion, shock, and then horror…then of course there was complete denial until I made her point out which jar of white powder she’d used. Then, I made her taste it.
And then, as if it couldn’t get any better, it turned out that my mum had accidentally used taxidermy salt instead of sugar.

Toasted Goose
- 0.5 drops porter
- 1.75 bushels udon noodles
- 6 cook’s cups olives
- 1.75 gallons apple juice
- 8 pounds black beans
- 1 liter honey
- 2.5 gallons nectarines
- 4 dashes kale
- 4 dessertspoons barley
- 0.5 dry pints walnuts
- 1.5 oz. jerky
- 3 smidgens falafel
- 1.25 dry pints baba ghanoush
Microwave baba ghanoush and barley in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 minute or until baba ghanoush are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring every 30 seconds. Place black beans in a large, deep skillet. Stir the walnuts into the jerky. Add falafel, saute for 1 minute; then add olives and cook for 7 to 8 minutes on each side. Fold in honey. Top with remaining porter. Cover, and refrigerate overnight. Let udon noodles rest for 5 minutes. Gently turn over once during cooking, and baste frequently during the last 4 minutes. Place the nectarines on the greased broiling pan, and brush with apple juice. Pour kale into a hot skillet.
