As always u were welcome @a_scien where I post many sneakpeaks and I like to talk to you
the empty corner will have a small sofa and a table, and I’m gonna buy tons of green plants and some lights to string in the ceiling, and a heater lamp!
The chair is Zelder approved!
preparing for spring and summer
Down here on the first floor I don’t get sun all winter. Late February, ever year like clockwork, the sun gets high enough in the sky to hit my balcony. My apartment goes from freezing cold to blazing hot in the mornings. Free heat! It’s as valuable as gold. I wish I could bottle it up. Every time I turn on a radiator, it’s like burning money. I can’t really afford to heat my dark, drafty apartment. The electric company can fuck right off. On sunny days, I strip down to my underwear and lay out in the sun like a cat, just soaking up the rays. This gets the old man who lives diagonally (up a floor to the right) out on his balcony. He’s a peeping tom. He just watches and watches until his wife notices and screams at him. What a screech! I don’t care, I’ve got nothing to hide and I need the vitamin D. It’s depressing to live in the dark all winter. People on the top floors wouldn’t understand. And anyone with a terrace needs to shut up about how hard the quarantine is. They have no idea what it is to live with just a few minutes of light a day. I’m lucky my place faces south. My heart goes out to the basement dwellers these days. Every day the window of time that I have light gets longer and longer. This is supposed to be the hopeful time of year. Normally on a sunny Sunday like this, we’d all be out in the streets and plazas at the Rastro, having tostas and cañas and laughing. Everyone together. I’m not going to take that for granted ever again. Right now, I’m going to let the sun warm me to my core and carry that feeling around with me all day.
Spring is here. <3
Bird Buddies -
I put some seeds out on my balcony planter – presumptively for my cat’s amusement, but also because I needed some entertainment during these troubling Covid-19 times -
