When we rest in the Lord’s presence and keep our minds only on Him, perfect and worry-quenching peace will permeate our lives.
As born again Christians and children of God, we have been endowed with the fruits of the spirit. Look up Galatians 5:22-23 and read through the fruits of the spirit.
Peace is the third thing listed. As children of God, we have his peace, we have the tranquility of our Father in our hearts. That can only mean one thing. Anxiety and worry cannot take the upper hand in our lives. Resting on our Rock and our Refuge will take any doubting or worrying thoughts or ideas from our minds.
But what if God asks us to do something that makes us squirm in discomfort or something that we don’t want to do? Well, the way I see it and I think we all as believers should see it is, if we truly follow God and have surrendered fully over to Him, His desires for us should become what we desire.
If He calls you to go somewhere or do something you wouldn’t normally choose to do, you would want to do it without hesitation.
When He tells us something, His peace overcomes us and no anxiety can squelch what he wants for us because our trust in Him is greater than our trust in anything else.
