    Shenandoah Crossing - two bedroom deluxe Cabin

    So first stay and I'm feeling more hopeful than before. The cabin I stayed in was beautiful and so cool! I found out that they do last minute deals for 50% off points wise so for 1000 points I could spend three nights in a two bedroom deluxe cabin.

    It was clean and the bed was so soft. I was also super surprised when the bathtub was a jacuzzi tub. I soaked for like an hour and passed out right after.

    The view was to die for and everyone was so nice. Things are looking up if all of the vacations are like this.

    Archiving this review I just left for a former employer on Indeed

    Long story short, this company is a timeshare company, which means they're born to scam people, including their employees. I was 18, and flattered into taking a job within Cabela's where you essentially stand on your feet while not moving at ALL for 6 hours straight while trying to scam people walking by into booking a vacation. I was told I was "mature for my age" and "carried myself well" and was given an "offer" that was made to sound special. My boss and the person who hired me were both so nice to me and made me feel so good and confident, and it felt nothing could go wrong. It was horrible. Their politeness and personability were what they used to cover up the fact that they weren't telling you anything about the job- because they knew the only way people would take it was if they were young, stupid, and easily flattered. They used that against me and at least 4-5 other teens my age that I met and worked with. You had to memorize a sales pitch as well as answers to questions in order to quite literally manipulate complete strangers into buying a vacation "deal". Heck, we even had to memorize BODY language in order to manipulate people properly. Part of this sales pitch is that you have to tell the customers to attend a timeshare preview while on their "discounted" vacation. One of my coworkers found out that if the customers don't attend this preview, they get charged the FULL amount of their vacation instead of the discounted amount they commit to, which- trust me- is a LOT more than what they agree to pay. So we were being trained to LIE to strangers, and we weren't even told we were lying to them. This company trained literal teenagers to lie to innocent strangers who are trying to shop at Cabela's, and scam them out of their money. Most of my days were just me standing with a stack of papers for random people to fill out once I dragged them over to our little stand. I was so exhausted from standing all the time that I would go straight to bed after getting home at only 6:30-7pm, and then I'd wake up to go to work the next day. For a company who takes so much pride in their 35 hour work week, I felt more taken up by this job than I did working 40 hours a week because my legs hurt THAT bad. I essentially stood in the same 15 foot radius for 6 hours straight. There was nowhere for us to walk and it was torture. You had to swoop in on passers-by like a vulture and bother them into filling out a paper so they could receive spam calls- that's what 98% of our days were. And our boss? She made money from those papers that WE got people to fill out. SHE made all the money off of them. This company is cold-hearted and dishonest to the extreme. I was never told this job position would be 100% standing until AFTER I had taken the job, I was never told the pay until AFTER I had taken the job, and I had never been told what my job duties were until AFTER I had taken the job. They said you would receive commissions, but only if you successfully convinced someone to buy a "discounted" vacation. They wanted you to have 2 sales a week or something- which was quite literally IMPOSSIBLE IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY. Take it from me, I made one (1) sale in 4 days, which is a friggin miracle (and I didn't even get any commission money from it. It all went to my selfish fake-happy boss, because that's how your first commission worked, apparently). I guarantee you you'd be lucky if you made 2 sales in a MONTH or two, let alone a week. I worked here for 4 days (6 if you count the weekend). I quit because I had had enough already. My legs were in so much pain, I spent most time off sleeping from the exhaustion, and I was NOT going to be the type of person to ruthlessly scam innocent people who came into Cabela's just to shop for a coat. Quitting was the best decision I ever made in my working career. This job made me extremely depressed, and just recalling it makes me want a drink. Do yourself a favor and curse the name of this horrible butt stuffing, stuck-up, compulsive liar-run company.

    I'm 29 years old woman and am tired of not being able to travel with my family.

    Let me back up.

    So, I went with my best friend and my godchildren on a vacation to Orlando. Part of the deal for the trip was that we had to attend a timeshare presentation. We were randomly placed in the Bluegreen presentation.

    Now I walked in thinking that I was not gonna buy into it. Then they showed me the presentation and the way their timeshares work was not the way timeshares normally work.

    They operate on a point system and you can stay in any of their other timeshare using those points. They have I think 60 resorts and they also have deals with other companies that make it so you can use their locations with your points too.

    Because of my job I was able to get a discounted price and extra points that will renew annually and made it so I could stay at any of the resorts fairly easily.

    The rooms at the resorts range from standard hotel rooms to basically a house and everything in between.

    I was terrified to take the chance because I don't take risk like this with money. The cost was basically like purchasing a newer car and what if I wanted to get out of it? Everyone knows timeshares are a bitch to leave.

    I wanted to be able to share the world with the people I care about though. So I took the risk and bought in.

    The contract was for 27,000 dollars and I get 16,000 points a year. Like I said, the cost of a newer car. Those points renew every year though, and I can roll them over into the next year to do a bigger trip to a nicer place.

    They were able to do in house financing so it's not that bad a payment. I'm not living outside my means, but I'm hoping that this doesn't end up being a lemon instead of a dream.

    I don't know if this is a mistake yet. But I figured I'd share the journey with you as I go.
