I call this: I draw too much of Yumoto
I call this: I draw too much of Yumoto
the way that the ballet teacher from Cute High Earth Defense Club is just anime Professor Lockhart??
(This has been discussed on the Boueibu Discord, sharing it here.)
I'm going to queue some tweets for October 27th, tagging the official Twitter accounts for:
Boueibu Game (if the account still exists)
Crunchyroll and/or Funimation
To get a port of both Boueibu games on the Nintendo Switch.
Think about it:
No server costs for the company to worry about. (Since I think that was part of why the game shut down?)
No microtransactions, since you're buying the game upfront!
We could see stories that maybe no one in the Western fandom saw
Official translation! Maybe a dub? (The ability to switch between Japanese/English text and Japanese/English voices would be cool!)
They still have all the code and assets and stuff (hopefully). It's not like we're asking for a brand new game out of nowhere. Just a matter of converting it to run on the Switch. (And maybe translating and dubbing it.)
I for one would buy a special edition with bonuses. Like weren't there keychains and stands and stuff for the app? Imagine if they brought them back or made new ones!
These are the points I'm going to make on Twitter. Please, retweet, reply, and like them (and whatever other engagement options there are). If you want to do your own tweets, use
to try to get it trending. Just talk about why you would want a port, and make sure to engage with other users' tweets, since that's how the Twitter algorithm works.
(Sorry this is short notice, I've been working on course projects and lost track of time.)
Yumoto really does look a LOT like Atsushi here
I was going through s1 and saw a few frames that panned across, so I decided to do what I sometimes do and combine them, so here we go XD
Saw the extremely adorable boueibu design by @deuterium51614, I had to try it out immediately!! Little Ryuu cosplay in acnh!
I've been making a bunch of Boueibu clothes in Animal Crossing!
Creator code: MA-7696-9269-8609
So far I've made:
Season one Battle Lovers (5)
Season one Caerula Adamas (3)
LOVE Student Council Gakuran (1)
LOVE Defense Club school uniforms (4, since Atsushi and Io's are the same)
The twins' school uniforms (2)
Happy Kiss Defense Club school uniforms (5)
(If anyone wants the pixel art to recreate them, I can make a separate post or reblog this one with the screenshots.)
This explanation is building upon my original post on the now-deleted Tumblr lolyeahshinichi, as well as what people have discovered over the years.
Note some are singular hot springs and some are named after groups of hot springs/hot spring towns.
Hakone Yumoto and Hakone Gora both refer to onsen in...well, Hakone, Kanagawa. There are also train stations named after them. (There also appears to be a place in Nikko which has "Hakone Yumoto" onsen as well, but that would lose the connection with Gora.)
black eggs (kurotama, short for kuro tamago) cooked in hot spring water are a Hakone specialty, specifically at Owakudani.
for some bonus disc content, the Boueibu VAs travelled here + there was a collab with the place.
In Oita Prefecture.
The namesake onsen is geographically close to Beppu Onsen, although nothing ever seemed to come of this.
In Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture.
The name roughly means "angry demon river", yet nothing ever seems to have come of this.
Boueibu did a collab with the place.
In Osaki, Miyagi Prefecture.
Naruko Onsen is known for its ability to cure ailments.
The kanji for Io's name means "sulfur", which Naruko Onsen has (his name is written いお in hiragana, but the characters for "sulfur" are 硫黄 (いおう)).
In Yamagata Prefecture.
The region this onsen is in is known for snow and cherries, specifically Sato Nishiki, which are Ryuu's favourite.
Ryuu's name derives from how rime (a type of ice) makes trees stand up.
Kusatsu Onsen, Arima Onsen and Gero Onsen are known as the 3 best/most famous/major hot springs in Japan (depending on translation).
In Gunma Prefecture.
In Hyogo Prefecture.
Due to the minerals present, it has "golden baths" (actually a bright mustard/brown colour) and "silver baths" (actually transparent).
In Gifu Prefecture.
Has "bijin no yu" ("beauty-enhancing baths"), hence Akoya's obsession with beauty. Bijin is only used to describe beautiful women (vs. bishonen or biseinen), which might explain why Akoya is so androgynous.
Known for healing arthritis and joint pain.
In Toyooka Prefecture.
Kou possibly derives his name from the Kou no yu.
In Aoki, Nagano Prefecture.
Tazawa Masuya is the name of a ryokan.
In Oita Prefecture.
Has various "hells".
Located in the Tagata district of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka.
One of the oldest hot springs.
The resort was loved by Natsume Soseki.
Located on the hillside of Mt. Kirishima in Kagoshima.
Known for its "Sulfur Valley".
It appears Ryoma got his name because Ryoma Sakamoto stayed in Kirishima with his wife, Ryo, for their honeymoon (apparently the first honeymoon in Japan).
Located on the Nanao Bay in the Noto Peninsula in Nanao, Ishikawa prefecture.
One of the oldest hot springs in the region, with a history dating back 1200 years.
In Gunma Prefecture.
1800 metres above sea level.
In Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture.
Said to be the oldest hot spring in Japan, with a history going back 3000 years.
Did a collaboration with Osamu Tezuka's manga Phoenix.
A specialty of the area is Ichiroku tart (a roll cake). Dougo's first name is Ichiro (one-six) to match this and this "Ichiro" sounds like a common name in Japan ("first son" (一郎), although that has an elongated sound on the end). There is also a 6 on Dougo's badge (stylised to look like a cake swirl) and his shirt from when he was younger to play upon this.
In Kagoshima Prefecture.
Known for sand baths as well as the more traditional hot springs.
Located in Kurobe, Toyama Prefecture. Found at the entrance of the Kurobe Gorge.
In Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture.
Has milk-white water, due to high magnesium and calcium content. (Shirahone = white bone.)
Named after Carlsbad in Czechoslovakia.
Located in Kamifurano, Hokkaido.
Appears to properly be called "Frontier Furanui Onsen".
Contains spoilers for RobiHachi ep. 5.
I only got around to watching it today, Wombat appears in episode 5 as the "Don of Haccone" (this is a silly anecdote, but I slid off my chair laughing at dub!Wombat). This made me think...why is it his name is different every time you see it in Boueibu? Why is it gibberish?
Notice the many inconsistent titles Wombat has? That explains why the keysmash is different - the so-called "Don of Haccone's" reputation precedes him and that keeps changing his name, so to speak. The keysmash/gibberish is possibly the same cloaking technology used on the Defence Club, thus rendering the names unpronounceable.
Then why would Wombat use it on his own name and planet name? Notice the planet's name is Haccone (Haccone = ハッコーネ vs. Hakone = 箱根). The entire planet, sans maybe the hot springs (because they were brought there by Wombat himself), is a parody of Earth's Hakone, right down to the pirate ship and manju. Thus, it's possible Wombat was censoring his own planet name to avoid confusion with Yumoto and Gora, who are also named after Hakone.
[It's been a while since I've seen Boueibu and I realised recently my memory is spottier than I give it credit for, so if there's something to contribute to this, please do so.]
There was new autumn merch and accomodation packages from the 1st of October (in Japan), so here's a picture of the novelty mugs in the exhibit room with Ishidan-kun. Thank you, everyone, for your messages on the blackboard (seen in image below).
Caught this during a rewatch yesterday. At the end of s2 ep 11, Yumoto is standing. But, by s2ep12 Yumoto is back down.
Now idk if this is just an error but if not 😂 staff plz I live for that type of drama, lemme see my boy fall back to his knees and Wombat flipping out
Re:#Binan Koukou Chikyuu Bouei-bu Love! Re:#美男高校地球防衛部LOVE! 2016@archive
The (user behind the) PKatahara account (remember, that's the person who works for Yorokobi no Shukushinki, which has collaborated with Boueibu before) received their Canime 10th anniversary merch on October 1st 2021. The badges were bigger than they expected. The towels are big, of course, so now they're troubled as to where to decorate with them (they say as they laugh). The towels on the ping pong table make it look like an En vs Atsushi ping pong match.
Speaking of which, the PKatahara account also shared these photos because the day they were posted (October 2nd) was apparently Boueibu's 7th anniversary. The one posting says they couldn't be at the ryokan in the afternoon so couldn't celebrate together with the other guests, so they thank whoever decorated the entrance.
Just two AU Yumotos I drew bc I like to draw this robe
Both poses from Jookpubstock
I've always had the urge to draw Yumoto as a Witch 😂 I'm not sure how I feel about his face but I enjoy the outfit! Pose by Adorkastock
The Eeo store has merch with new illustrations based on the Night Parade of 100 Demons. The corresponding pop-up corner will run from the 29th of October until the 14th of November 2021 at the GraffArt Shop MAGNET by SHIBUYA109. An exhibit, called "Assembly Hall of the Youkai", will happen at the 5th floor event space of that store from the 29th - 31st of October. Physical preorders are open until the 4th of October (from the Shibuya, Nanba and Nagoya stores, Nanba and Nagoya take preorders only through this method) and an online store is also available (items shipped in December). If you purchase more than or equal to 2200 yen of merch from each series (tax incl.), you will get a random postcard with one of the designs. If you purchase 3300 yen or more from both series, you will gain an entry ticket for the exhibit. For more details (because there are more images than can fit into this post, including COVID regulations), please see this Twitter thread.
halloween month is here 🎃🦇
Just a little sneak peek for Boueitober day 1
Man now I wish I made prompts for all month 😂
I’m not the biggest fan of the Boueibu ova by far but I always enjoy rewatching it. In the fight, when Yumoto confesses that he wants the graduation to be cancelled because he wants to stay with everyone else in the defense club (remember that now CA and VEPPer are in it too!), the monster shames him for being a failure as a superhero and shoots his button gun at him, all the other Battle Lovers, now detransformed, JUMP IN FRONT OF HIM TO MAKE A BARRIER TO PROTECT HIM THAT IS SO SWEET
They don't transform again after this but defeat the monster through a new attack and I think it proves that this anime is not mainly about some guys transforming into weird ruffly outfits and having powers, it's about their relationship and how they grow as people
If it was just about them as magical boys, they'd always show the full transformation like in Precure and we'd all grow tired of it and they would've gained a new form in the ova, well Yumoto would’ve had at least two more forms than everyone else
Instead the staff went the completely opposite way and made them defeat the monster without transforming. It's original, I love it
This franchise is not about the Battle Lovers, Caerula Adamas, VEPPer, the Happy Knights or Edelstein. It's about the Binan High Defense Club, which is what unites all of them.
