Henri Vidal and Brigitte Bardot in Come Dance With Me! (1959)
Le donne più forti amano i diversi, gli sbagliati, quelli che poi si rivelano incredibilmente giusti. Le donne forti amano i personaggi deboli del loro tempo, ma forti nel futuro. Le donne forti amano fermare i pianti di chi sa.

I always love the details of such photos: the pictures on the wall, the perfume bottles, the wig she used for going out incognito, the film script in image, the fan letters, the old telephone…
She answered her fan mail personally, striking up correspondences here and there until she was badly burned by an experience with a fraud.
(A follow-up to yesterday’s post by the way).

The Brigitte Bardot sculpture in her hometown of St. Tropez. Established 2017.
Located near the town’s entrance, the statue was based on a water-colour painting by Italian artist Milo Manara—which in turn was based on photos taken by Bardot’s close friend Ghislain Dussart at her home La Madrague in 1965. I’ve featured them before.
Though she didn’t attend the unveiling, she called the statue “an immense honour”, as you do.
