This is going to be… extremely cheesy. But I was just listening to a song and a thought came to my mind.
Yang is often alluded to the sun (not a far fetch, since her name is ‘sunny little dragon’) and Blake is the shadow. So their yin-yang dynamic is said to be Sun/Shadow or Light/Darkness. Which I don’t want to invalidate at all. (I love it very much.)
And there is the whole ‘darkness can’t exist without the light’ stuff. But the thing is: the darkness will always hide from the light. It can’t exist without it, but it also can’t live with it.
Once the sun comes out, the darkness almost doesn’t exist anymore. But where does the darkness exist? The night. And what rises during the night? The moon.
They exist together in harmony, don’t fight for their place to be.
So I was thinking:
Sun helped Blake a lot, but he was ‘too much’. Blake couldn’t co-exist with him, couldn’t be with him. Just like the shadow can’t co-exist with the actual sun. They are too different.
However, the darkness co-exists with the moon every night. (A pair that just belongs together, you could say.) And even in the darkest night, where too many clouds hide the moon, it’s still there, making the night just the littlest bit brighter.
Yang is the moon to Blake’s night.
Not trying to outshine her or trying to chase all the shadows away, but just being there and accepting who she is, watching over her and making the darkness brighter. Blake can co-exist with Yang, can be with her.
(Also, the moon reflects the sun, so you could say that it is ‘sunny’. Boom. Full circle from the beginning.)
That brings ‘Yoon’ on a whole other level, doesn’t it?
