The Impact of Less in Theodore Roosevelt National Park by Mark Stevens
The caption I got from Reading a Digital Photography School web article a few years ago where the author discussed using less in order to capture a feeling of more, I angled my SLR camera slightly downward and then zoomed in to some badlands in this part of Theodore Roosevelt National Park. With that downward angle and, not including the blue skies as part of this image, I felt anyone seeing it would look at it in wide-eyed amazement, thinking this badlands setting might stretch far beyond to a distant horizon.

The eyes of Alzheimer’s
This image came to mind yesterday and I wanted to try doing another pastel on canvas with it. It didn’t come out exactly the way I wanted it to. It’s to flat and “soft” for my liking. I’ll probably toy around with it before I put the milk on it lol
The “plot” (lol) for this piece is a take on Alzheimer’s disease.
My dead grandma
(yea, some people say “my late bla bla,” but I think that’s stupid. She’s not late. She’s dead. Lol I’d have to say she’s either right on time or she’s never gonna show up!)
(or as I still call it, old timers disease. And as you age you start to agree just how CORRECT that way of saying it is lol)
and, even though most everyone says that those who have these diseases change into someone else or they “fade away,” I’ve never seen that. Not just with my grandma but with every person I’ve known that has had these diseases.
They’re not changing or fading away. They’re trapped inside their heads, like being locked inside a room, and their eyes are the windows. And all they can do is look out of their window from the dark and light of their own heads.
And sometimes they manage to break a window and get a bit of themselves out of the room, only for the room to have wolverine healing powers and they’re back to being behind the window in their locked room. It’s scary as all hell, being trapped in your own head.
Lmao just look at all the people around the world protesting having to stay inside their own homes with their families for longer than 24 hours!
Imagine being locked inside your own head and your body on a sort of autopilot that you can’t turn off. Scary that is.
Anywho! Gonna get back to work lol
is this all? or is this all a dream?
