    WTF?

    I mean

    WTF???

The bill expressly bans violence and discrimination against a vulnerable group, the LGBTQ+ community.

The Vatican argues it would curb religious freedoms.

Religious freedoms? What religious freedoms? Show me. I want one of these guys that supposedly have read the bible to show me where it says it’s ok to kill gay people. I want them to show me the line in the sermon on the mount where Jesus says those people are blessed, but lesbians aren’t . I want them to give me which commandment says it’s fine to promote hate against trans women and men. You know what? You can’t. You can’t because that’s not what the bible says. The bible talks about loving your neighbor, and helping each other, and coming to the aid of the suffering. It says it is not ok to be cruel to ANYONE. Indeed it literally says you shouldn’t hate ANYONE.

But in the same month when the bodies of hundreds of children were discovered behind a residential school that was run by a Catholic order, the Vatican is arguing against a bill that would protect another vulnerable group.

Could they be any more tone deaf?

So you in the Vatican, if you have any traditions that would be upset by this law, tell you what, it’s your traditions and behaviours that are wrong. You need to change.

Because that’s what Jesus would do.

    Saint Juliana Falconieri

    Virgin (1270-1340)

    .

Patronage: bodily ills, sick people, sickness

    .

Saint Juliana Falconieri was born in 1270, in answer to prayer. Her father was the builder of the splendid church of the Annunziata in Florence, while her uncle, Saint Alexis Falconieri, became one of the seven Founders of the Servite Order. Under his surveillance Juliana grew up more like an angel than a human being, as he said. Her great modesty was remarkable; never during her entire lifetime did she look at her reflection in a mirror. The mere mention of sin made her shudder and tremble, and once, on hearing of a scandal, she fainted.

    .

Her devotion to the sorrows of Our Lady drew her to the Servants of Mary or Servite Order, and at the age of fourteen, after refusing an offer of marriage, she received the habit from Saint Philip Benizi, General of the Order. Her sanctity attracted many novices, for whose direction she was bidden to draw up a rule, and thus she became foundress of the Mantellate.

    .

She was the servant of her Sisters rather than their mistress, while outside her convent she led a life of apostolic charity, converting sinners, reconciling enemies, and healing the sick. She was sometimes rapt for whole days in ecstasy, and her prayers saved the Servite Order when it was in danger of being suppressed.

    .

Saint Juliana in her old age suffered various painful illnesses. She was wasting away through a disease of the stomach which prevented her taking food, and bore her silent agony with constant cheerfulness, grieving only for the privation of Holy Communion. At last, when in her seventieth year she was at the point of death, she begged to be allowed once more to see and adore the Blessed Sacrament. It was brought to her cell and reverently laid on a corporal, which was placed over her heart. At this moment she expired, and the Sacred Host disappeared. After her death the form of the Host was found stamped upon her heart, at the exact spot over which the Blessed Sacrament had been placed. Saint Juliana died in her convent in Florence in 1340. Miracles have been frequently effected through her intercession.

    .

Reflection. Meditate often, says Saint Paul of the Cross, on the sorrows of the Blessed Mother, sorrows inseparable from those of Her beloved Son. If you seek the Cross, there you will find the Mother; and where the Mother is, there also is the son.

    .

    Prayer to Venerate Any Saint

    .

Saint Juliana Falconieri: Feast Day June 19

    .

I desire therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men: For kings, and for all that are in high station: that we may lead a quiet and a peaceable life in all piety and chastity. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

    .

And another angel came, and stood before the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer of the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar, which is before the throne of God. And the smoke of the incense of the prayers of the saints ascended up before God from the hand of the angel. (Rev. 8:3-4)

    .

ETERNAL Father, I wish to honor St. (Name), and I give Thee thanks for all the graces Thou have bestowed upon him (her). I ask Thee to please increase grace in my soul through the merits of this saint, and I commit the end of my life to him (her) by this special prayer, so that by virtue of Thine goodness and promise, St. (Name) might be my advocate and provide whatever is needed at that hour. Amen.

    .

PROMISE: "When you wish to honor any particular saint and give Me thanks for all the graces I have bestowed on that saint, I increase grace in your soul through the merits of that saint. When you commit the end of your life to any of the saints by special prayers, I appoint those saints to be your advocates and to provide whatever you need at that hour."-Our Lord to St. Gertrude

    Saint Dominc and the Rosary

    .

TAKEN FROM MIRACULOUS STORIES OF THE ROSARY by SAINT LOUIS de MONTFORT

    .

Saint Dominic, seeing that the gravity of people’s sins was hindering the conversion of the Albigensians, withdrew into a forest near Toulouse, where he prayed continuously for three days and three nights. During this time he did nothing but weep and do harsh penances in order to appease the anger of God. He used his discipline so much that his body was lacerated, and finally he fell into a coma. At this point our Lady appeared to him, accompanied by three angels, and she said, “Dear Dominic, do you know which weapon the Blessed Trinity wants to use to reform the world?” “Oh, my Lady,” answered Saint Dominic, “you know far better than I do, because next to your Son Jesus Christ you have always been the chief instrument of our salvation.” Then our Lady replied, “I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the principal weapon has always been the Angelic Psalter, which is the foundation-stone of the New Testament. Therefore, if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, preach my Psalter.” So he arose, comforted, and burning with zeal for the conversion of the people in that district, he made straight for the cathedral. At once unseen angels rang the bells to gather the people together, and Saint Dominic began to preach. At the very beginning of his sermon, an appalling storm broke out, the earth shook, the sun was darkened, and there was so much thunder and lightning that all were very much afraid. Even greater was their fear when, looking at a picture of our Lady exposed in a prominent place, they saw her raise her arms to heaven three times to call down God’s vengeance upon them if they failed to be converted, to amend their lives, and seek the protection of the holy Mother of God. God wished, by means of these supernatural phenomena, to spread the new devotion of the holy Rosary and to make it more widely known. At last, at the prayer of Saint Dominic, the storm came to an end, and he went on preaching. So fervently and compellingly did he explain the importance and value of the Rosary that almost all the people of Toulouse embraced it and renounced their false beliefs. In a very short time a great improvement was seen in the town; people began leading Christian lives and gave up their former bad habits.

    .

    .

WHEN YOU START PRAYING THE DAILY ROSARY, YOU CAN STOP FEARING DEATH…

    .

The Fifteen Promises of Mary Granted to those who Recite the Rosary Daily

    .

The Blessed Virgin Mary Promised to Saint Dominic and to all who follow that “Whatever you ask in the Rosary will be granted.” She left for all Christians Fifteen Promises to those who recite the Holy Rosary.

    .

Imparted to Saint Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche

    .

    1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall receive signal graces.

    .

    2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.

    .

    3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

    .

4.The Rosary will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire for eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

    .

    5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.

    .

    6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.

    .

    7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.

    .

    8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenititude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

    .

    9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.

    .

    10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

    .

    11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.

    .

    12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

    .

    13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.

    .

    14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons and daughters, and brothers and sisters of my only Son Jesus Christ.

    .

    15. Devotion of my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

    .

    .

The Seven Great Blessings of the Rosary

In The Secret of the Rosary (p. 65), St. Louis De Montfort states:

"The Rosary recited with meditation on the mysteries brings bout the following marvelous results:

    1. It gradually gives us a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ;

    .

    2. It purifies our souls, washing away sin;

    .

    3. It gives us victory over all our enemies;

    .

    4. It makes it easy for us to practice virtue;

    .

    5. It sets us on fire with love of Our Blessed Lord;

    .

    6. It enriches us with graces and merits;

    .

    7. It supplies us with what is needed to pay all our debts to God and to our fellow men, and finally, it obtains all kinds of graces for us from Almighty God."

    The Power of the Rosary

    .

From The Secret of the Rosary, 1st Edition, by Saint Louis de Montfort

    .

It would hardly be possible for me to put into words how much Our Lady thinks of the Holy Rosary and how she vastly prefers it to all other devotions.

    .

Neither can I sufficiently express how highly she rewards those who work to preach the devotion, to establish it and spread it, nor, on the other hand, how firmly she punishes those who work against it.

    .

All during life, Saint Dominic had nothing more at heart than to praise Our Lady, to preach her greatness and to inspire everybody to honor her by saying her Rosary. As a reward he received countless graces from her; exercising her great power as Queen of Heaven, she crowned his labors with many miracles and prodigies. Almighty God always granted him what he asked through Our Lady. The greatest honor of all was that she helped him to crush the Albigensian heresy and made him the founder and patriarch of a great religious order.

    .

As for Blessed Alan de la Roche, who restored the devotion to the Rosary, he received many privileges from Our Lady; she graciously appeared to him several times to teach him how to work out his salvation, to become a good priest and perfect religious, and how to pattern himself on Our Lord.

    .

He used to be horribly tempted and persecuted by devils, and then a deep sadness would fall upon him and sometimes he would come close to despair – but Our Lady always comforted him by her sweet presence which banished the clouds of darkness from his soul.

    .

She taught him how to say the Rosary, explaining its value and the fruits to be gained by it and she gave him a great and glorious privilege: the honor of being called her new spouse.

    .

As a token of her chaste love for him she placed a ring upon his finger and a necklace made of her own hair about his neck and gave him a Rosary.

    .

Father Tritème Carthagena and Martin of Navarre (both very learned men), and others as well, have spoken of him in terms of the highest praise. Blessed Alan died at Zwolle in Flanders September 8, 1475, after having brought over one hundred thousand people into the Confraternity [of the Rosary – Ed.].

    .

Blessed Thomas of Saint John was well known for his sermons on the Most Holy Rosary, and the devil, jealous of the success he had with souls, tortured him so much that he fell ill and was sick so long that the doctors gave up on him.

    .

One night when he really thought that he was dying, the devil appeared to him in the most horrible form imaginable. There was a picture of Our Lady near his bed; he looked at it and cried with all his heart and soul and strength: “Help me, save me, my sweet, sweet Mother!”

    .

No sooner had he said this than the picture seemed to come alive and Our Lady put out her hand, took him by the arm and said: “Do not be afraid, Thomas my son, here I am and I am going to save you: get up now and go on preaching my Rosary as you used to do. I promise to shield you from your enemies.”

    .

When Our Lady said this the devil fled and Blessed Thomas got up, finding that he was in perfect health. He then thanked the Blessed Mother with tears of joy. He resumed his Rosary apostolate and his sermons were marvelously successful.

    .

Our Lady not only blesses those who say her Rosary, but also abundantly rewards those who, by their example, inspire others to say it as well.

    .

Alphonsus, King of Leon and Galicia, very much wanted all his servants to honor the Blessed Virgin by saying the Rosary. So he hung a large Rosary on his belt and always wore it, but unfortunately never said it himself.

    .

Nevertheless, his wearing it encouraged his courtiers to say the Rosary very devoutly.

    .

One day the King fell seriously ill and when he was given up for dead he found himself, in a vision, before the judgment seat of Our Lord. Many devils were there accusing him of all the sins he had committed and Our Lord as Sovereign Judge was just about to condemn him to hell when Our Lady appeared to intercede for him.

    .

She called for a pair of scales and had his sins placed in one of the balances. On the other side, she put the Rosary that he had always worn, along with all the Rosaries that had been said because of his example.

    .

It was found that the Rosaries weighed more than his sins.

    .

Looking at him with great kindness Our Lady said: “As a reward for this little honor that you paid me in wearing my Rosary, I have obtained a great grace for you from my Son. Your life will be spared for a few more years. See that you spend those years wisely, and do penance.”

    .

When the King regained consciousness he cried out: “Blessed be the Rosary of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, by which I have been delivered from eternal damnation!”

    .

After he had recovered his health, he spent the rest of his life in spreading devotion to the Holy Rosary and said it faithfully every day.

    .

People who love the Blessed Virgin ought to follow the example of King Alphonsus and that of the saints whom I have mentioned so that they too may win other souls for the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary. They will receive great graces on earth and eternal life later on.

“They that explain me shall have life everlasting” (Ecclus. 24:31).

Prayer for Eternal Wisdom or the Prayer of Solomon (St. Louis de Montfort)

    .

St. Louis de Montfort offers a prayer “composed by the Holy Spirit to ask for Divine Wisdom.

    .

God of my Fathers, God of mercy, You created all things by Your word and by Your wisdom You formed man so that he might have dominion over all the creatures You have made; so that he might govern the world in fairness and justice and pronounce judgment with an upright heart. Give me this Wisdom that sits with You and on Your throne.

    .

Do not exclude me from the number of your children, for I am Your slave and the son of Your slave [Our Lady], a man who is weak and short-lived, with little understanding of judgment and laws. For, even when a person be considered perfect among the children of men, he is, nonetheless, worthless if Your Wisdom does not dwell in him.

    .

It is Your Wisdom who has knowledge of Your works, who was with You when You made the world and who knows what is pleasing in Your sight and shows what is right according to Your commandments.

    .

Send forth Your Spirit, then, from Your Sanctuary in Heaven and from the throne of Your majesty, for this Wisdom to be with me and work with me so that I may know what is pleasing to You. For Wisdom possesses the knowledge and understanding of all things. It will lead me in all my works with true perception, and its power will guard me. My actions, then will be pleasing to You and I will lead Your people with justice and be worthy of the throne of my Father. For what man can know the designs of God or can discover what is His will?

    .

The thoughts of men are unsure and their plans are uncertain, for a perishable body weighs heavily upon their soul, and the earthly dwelling depresses and disturbs the spirit by many cares. We understand only with difficulty what is happening upon earth, and we find it hard to discern even what is before our eyes.

    .

How can we know what is happening in Heaven, and how can we know Your thoughts, unless You give us Your Wisdom and send us Your Holy Spirit from Heaven so that He may straighten out the paths of those living on earth and teach us what is pleasing to You. Lord, it is through Your Wisdom that all those who have been pleasing to You since the beginning of time have been saved. Give me, then, Your Divine Wisdom.

    .

In his work Love of Eternal Wisdom (Chap. 15, nn. 89-190). St. Louis de Montfort’s writes:

Whoever wishes to obtain wisdom must pray for it day and night without wearying or becoming disheartened. Blessing in abundance will be his if, after 10, 20, 30 years of prayer, or even an hour before he dies, he comes to possess it.

    .

No, it is not those who are careless and inconstant in their prayers and study who obtain Wisdom, but those rather who are like the man in the Gospel who goes during the night to knock at the door of a friend, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread (Lk 11.15).

    .

Note that it is Divine Wisdom itself who in this parable or story teaches us how we should pray if we wish to be heard. This man knocked and repeated his knocking and entreaties four or five times with increased force and insistence in spite of the untimely hour, near midnight, and his friend having already gone to bed; and in spite of having been rebuffed and told repeatedly to be off and not make himself a selfish nuisance. At length the friend became so annoyed by the persistence of the man that he got out of bed, opened the door and gave him all he asked for. (Lk 11.5-8)

    .

That is how we must pray to obtain Wisdom. And assuredly God wants to be importuned, and He will sooner or later rise up, open the door of His mercy and give us the three loaves of Wisdom, that is, the bread of life, the bread of understanding and the bread of angels. (Ecclesiasticus 15.3; Jn 6.35)

Code of Canon Law 1398 says:

    .

    https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG1104/_P57.HTM

    .

A PERSON WHO PROCURES AN ABORTION INCURS AUTOMATIC EXCOMMUNICATION.

    .

    Q. 1. What does the Catholic Church teach about abortion?

    .

    A. 1. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states:

    .

"Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life. "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs excommunication latae sententiae," [CIC, can. 1398] "by the very commission of the offense," [CIC, can. 1314] and subject to the conditions provided by Canon Law. [Cf. CIC, cann. 1323-1324] The Church does not thereby intend to restrict the scope of mercy. Rather, she makes clear the gravity of the crime committed, the irreparable harm done to the innocent who is put to death, as well as to the parents and the whole of society." (C.C.C. # 2272)

    .

"A person who procures a successful abortion incurs an automatic (latae sententiae) excommunication." [Code of Canon Law 1398]

    .

    Q. 2. What does "formal cooperation in an abortion" means?

    .

    A. 2. "Formal cooperation in an abortion" includes all the individuals who had abortions, the abortionists who performed the abortion(s), the nurses and other employees who assisted in abortions, the administrative staff that provided facilities where abortions were performed, all the individuals who recommended/suggested an abortion, the politicians who promoted abortions and/or who voted in favour of them, all the relatives who supported abortions, no matter their excuse for being in favour of it, and even the religious persons who have supported such an act by word or action.

    .

It also includes those who provide financial support, the person who drives the pregnant woman to the abortion clinic, those who manufactured and distributed the pills or other medication that results in an abortion.

    .

There are no exception, either one is in favour of abortions or totally against it.

    .

    Q. 3. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that those who give "formal cooperation in an abortion" "incurs (an) excommunication latae sententiae." What does that mean?

    .

    A. 3. An excommunication that is "latae sententiae" means that it is an automatic excommunication. It does not need a formal decree (an official notice) of excommunication. The person who recommended, supported or was involved in the act of an abortion, has been excommunicated. The penalty of an excommunication was in effect the moment the fault was committed. If a declaration is made by the Church, this is simply to confirm the fact that an excommunication has taken place.

    .

1983 Code’s Canon Law 1398 Upheld this Law.

"The apparition of the (arch)angel gabriel definitely played a part in joseph's decision to stay with mary, without it he probably would have broken the engagement when he found out mary was pregnant, but he was nice enough to not have her stoned on his behalf, just silently go away and leave her to fend for herself; an actual angel coming to his dreams made him fear divine wrath and punishment, so he decided to stay with her and the son of god, which would be scary in its own right (and this without taking into account god's potential power to make him do his bidding if so he wished)" and "joseph was a simp" are two statements than can, in fact, coexist <3

    Saint Anthony's Miraculously Reattaches a Man's Foot

    .

A young man of Padua, called Leonardo, went to St Anthony to make his confession. Among his other sins, he confessed that he had once kicked his mother so hard that she had suffered a nasty fall. Anthony muttered under his breath, “The foot that strikes father or mother deserved to be cut off.” Of course he did not intend his words to be taken literally. The young man, not understanding the meaning of his words, returned home, took a hatchet and chopped off his foot. The news soon reached the ears of the poor Anthony. He followed the youth’s grieving parents to their house and made his way to the young man’s bedroom. He prayed, holding the severed foot close to the leg, made the sign of the cross, and instantly the foot became attached to the leg. The young man jumped up, giving praise to the Lord and thanksgiving to Anthony, who had healed his leg in this truly miraculous way.
