But there is a third form of suffering: active suffering - the voluntary laying oneself open to another and allowing oneself to be intimately affected by him; that is to say, the suffering of passionate love.

“For Jerusalem stumbled, And Judah is fallen, Because their tongue and their doings Are against the LORD, To provoke the eyes of His glory.”

    ‭‭-Isaiah‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

How often do you pay attention to the words you speak? Me, personally, not as much as I should. This verse reminded me of the importance of our words and also lead me to these verses:

“But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.””

    ‭‭-Matthew‬ ‭12:36-37‬ ‭NKJV‬

Honestly, these verses should put some fear and reverence into us. We should be more mindful of what is coming out of our mouths. I know everyday I speak idle words or words about myself, situations and others that do NOT line up with God’s Word. I speak them as if they have no power but as we can see in Isaiah it wasn’t just what the people DID that caused their destruction, it was what they SAID as well.

I do not want to keep living as though my words have little to no consequences. I desperately want my thoughts, attitudes/behaviours, doings and words to line up with God’s Word. The ONLY way this is possible for me and you both is through Jesus and the studying of His Word. I didn’t want to spend time with God today but I chose to. I even told God I didn’t want to but I knew it was needed so I crucified my flesh and God showed me all this.

Take the time to spend with God. Learn His Word. Speak His Word. Do His Word.

Awaken us, O God, to that faith which dies unless it clothes the naked, feeds the hungry, comforts the sorrowing, shelters the destitute and binds up the broken; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

“My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him.” Psalm 62:1

When I am alone with my Heavenly Father my soul is at peace. There's a forest close to me and I love to go there with my God. It is lovely there and the peace is beautiful. I walk to town and God is my company. Or in my room, alone with my God. In these times, my rest is in my God. For 37 years, God has been my peace through many troubled times. Friend, when your soul needs rest, go to your favourite places, spend time alone with your God. Find rest in Him. I pray He refreshes your soul and gives you peace, in Jesus' name Amen. 🙏

    Dimanche 18 avril

    Saint Parfait

    REFLECTION:

Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen today that you and I cannot overcome. If you must win in the battle of life, first realize that God is with you and has equipped you to be a winner. In 1 John 5: 4 that "Everything that is born of God overcomes the world and this is our victory, our faith", you must understand that you are not ordinary, because you were born of God and there is something within you that others do not have.

Prepare to be brave even in the face of defeat. Stop taking into account what you see because what you see is temporary and not eternal. For example, if you are looking for a job, don't be intimidated by resumes that others may submit. Refuse to disqualify yourself and go to your job interview by faith.

There are those who come to church, applaud, dance, but deep down they are afraid to start a business. In fact, the enemy tells you that wealth is not for someone like you, so you put your hands up and barely scratch the surface to survive. You can change your position today and start living the life God ordained for you, a life of exploits; a life of victory.

    CALL:

No matter how big your bank account is, without God, your life will have no meaning or purpose. Today is the day of your salvation tell him: Lord, I accept You as my Savior, guide my steps, calm the storms in My life, appease my insecurity, fear and loneliness and remove this depression with Your Word.

May the peace of the LORD be with you day and night until the end of your days.

Blessed all the days of your life.

    Connected To God

God did not need us. He is perfect and complete. However, God wants us. Unlike the angels, God created man in His image and calls us His children. It is His will to establish a personal relationship with us. “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1:27 (NKJV) Just as He fellowshipped with Adam and Eve in the Garden of…

    Samedi 17 avril

    Saint Anicet

    Sainte Kateri Tekakwitha

    REFLECTION:

Lord, help me to remember that nothing is going to happen today that you and I cannot overcome.

It is not always easy to do the "right" thing. Sometimes you are forced to choose between standing up for the truth or giving in to pressure from friends or even family who would rather you do the wrong thing. There is no "middle center" when it comes to right and wrong. Someone once said, "I'd rather be with God and be condemned by the world than be with the world and be condemned by God." It's that easy. Keep in mind that making decisions that please God will not always make others happy.

There is nothing worthwhile that will make you miss heaven, absolutely nothing! This is why it is important to spend time with God every day! Make sure you eat a healthy diet of “spiritual food,” which includes being careful what you eat, what you look at, what you hear, what you read, and who you hang out with. I choose godly friends, those who bring you closer to Jesus, not those who drive you away. Stay away from people who are trying to influence you for evil purposes, they are not your real friends. You can love them, forgive them, wish good things for them, and move on without them. Surround yourself with people who want to see you grow closer to Christ.

    CALLED:

No matter how big your bank account is, without God, your life will have no meaning or purpose. Holy Creator, who gives creation as a graceful gift and donates life to all within it,

who holds creation in care and love, and not with domination,

who creates each second from nothing and impregnates it with grace,

grant that we may see the holiness of each moment and respond to it in love.

As creation hints at your goodness and beauty,

    let us glimpse you beyond it;

let us live in thanks and be as holy custodians of all you have given.

    Amen.

“Those who live under the protection of the Most High are kept safe by the Almighty. This is what I say about the Lord: “He is the one who defends and protects me. He is my God, and I trust in him.” For he will save you from hidden traps and deadly diseases. He will hide you under his feathers, and shelter you with his wings. His trustworthiness shields and protects you. You will not be afraid of terror at night or an arrow that flies in the day, or disease that attacks at night, or catastrophe that falls at noon. A thousand may fall beside you, ten thousand die at your right hand, but you won't be harmed. You only have to open your eyes and you will see how the wicked are repaid. Because you have made the Lord your protection, and the Most High your home, nothing evil will happen to you; no plague will come near where you live. For he will command his angels to take care of you in everything you do. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't trip and fall down. You will trample lions and snakes; you will tread young lions and serpents underfoot. I will save anyone who loves me; I will protect anyone who accepts me. When they call out to me for help, I will answer; when they are in trouble, I will be with them. I will save and honor them. I will grant them long lives, and show them my salvation.” Psalm 91:1‭-‬16 (FBV)
“He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” Psalm 91:4 (NLT)

Fighting Fear And Anxiety With The Promises Of God by Debbie McDaniel.

Day 5 of 5 - When You Need God’s Protection and Care:

“Often this world can be a scary place. The truth is, it’s easy to say, “we trust God.” Yet these very words can be hard to actually live out. When we truly find rest and hope in Him alone, nothing has the power to shake us. We stand on firm ground, safe territory. We’re protected, surrounded, and held secure. But it’s a choice we must make every day, to “dwell” in that safe place.

One of the biggest fears many of us may find ourselves battling is that something bad will happen to our loved ones. Reality is, we can’t always be with them, nor can we protect them from all harm that may come their way. But we can find great power through prayer and God’s word. They are weapons of warfare over the darkness, and God is faithful to work on behalf of His children. He is with us, and our loved ones, always. And He is a Mighty God.

We can trust His protection and care to constantly surround our lives, and those we love. He never promises us this life will be easy. In fact, His word even says that we may face difficult battles. But He also reminds us over and over that He will be near us in it all. And we know He will hold us secure.

PRAYER: Dear God, Thank you for your presence with us, thank you for your Almighty Shadow. We praise you for your protection and care over our lives, and over our loved ones. You surround us as a shield, even when we’re not aware. Thank you that you go before us and cover us from behind; that you are in our midst, and our future is secure in the place you’re preparing for us. Your words bring such hope and comfort in the times we’ve struggled with fear and anxious thoughts. Remind us again of your great strength today. May we see glimpses of your glory and blessing as we follow after you. May we continually reflect your light, peace, and hope to a world that so desperately needs your presence and healing, for victory and salvation are found in you alone. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

“Thank you for joining us in this 5-day plan of praying God’s promises over our fears and anxieties. May His peace and grace abound to you, more and more, as you seek to follow Him today, and every day. He is with you my friends, you are never alone. Call on His name each morning, read His words of hope and healing, and keep moving forward in His great power and strength. ¹¹ I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.
