Get this thing out of my space!!
Sunshine banana birds!!
“That is no way to treat a parrot.”
Ah, yes. Just look at the way Hamilton struggles to get away from my fingers. He is clearly in so much distress over me touching his beak. That’s why he keeps chirping happily and stays in one place even though I’m CLEARLY holding VERY TIGHTLY on his beak 🤦♂️
I’m sorry, but this comment annoyed me too much to ignore it. Clearly this person knows so little about birds that they can’t read the obvious body language and even verbal language my bird is displaying here.

Dragon time again! I haven’t used watercolours in a long time and it feels like I always have to re-learn them so this is muddier than I wanted but it was really fun to make. Thanks goes to @wild–mountain–thyme for the reference picture and for keeping Dragon alive despite the bird’s best efforts :’)
I love her and she loves me.
I do not want this.

My birb is the destroyer of any kind of item you hold
I wanna get a pair of cockatiels and I am doing my research (as one should). But the recommended cage sizes differ greatly by country. My country recommends 40 x 80 inch for a pair and practically declares anything under that animal abuse, but the US recommends only half the size. Autralia is somewhere in the middle. So whats the truth here?
My biggest problem is that all the animal shelters won’t rehome birds in a home that is under this recommended cage size. But seeing professionals and breeders from the US being okay with a smaller size is very confusing to me. Even bird owners in my own country are often okay with a smaller sized cage if you give the bird a lot of time outside. But the animal shelter is like: Nope.
You know what happends when you insist on a few centimeters? You won’t be able to find new homes for your animals and people will just go out and buy their birds wich will in the long run result in more birds at your shelter. Same thing goes for rodents. Like, you want to rehome this pet or not?
