Shin Soukoku-1

I really love the dynamics of Shin Soukoku.

The first arc.

Of course,the very first thing we see is the contrast. The contrast is in the designs, in the characters, and in the eyes, of course. Eyes are generally one of the main symbols in BSD. Atsushi's colored and bright eyes/Akutagawa's completely black eyes.

Also, their main symbolism is the Chinese Tiger and Dragon, which represent Yin/Yang.

In the first meeting, Ryu says that Atsushi "brings suffering to others by his very existence", thereby expressing what Atsushi himself thought and feared. In the future, Atsushi recalls these words several times, along with memories from the orphanage.

Orphanage is his trauma and his main nightmare, which continues to haunt him in the present (which has begun to improve) in the form of Ryu.

In this sense, Ryu becomes the embodiment of his fears and nightmares. Remembering his words and orphanage, he decides to give his life for others, deciding that this will give him the right to exist.

At the end of the first arc, Atsushi says that "it's impossible to bear life if no one tells you 'It's okay to live'."

And Ryu knows it.

He lives for the acknowledge of Dazai,and then some random person comes and gets everything, including the acknowledge of Dazai. Dazai has his own plans, so he also specifically tells Akutagawa about "his new subordinate". Atsushi becomes the epitome of his trauma.

They met twice in their lives, seemingly random people they first met in some corner, but already managed to take root in each other's heads as the embodiment of their traumas.

At the end of the first arc, Atsushi is afraid and is about to run,but eventually decides to face his fear and decides to fight Akutagawa.

In the battle at the end of the first arc,Akutagawa loses,deciding that Dazai is right and the "new subordinate" is really better,so he must try even harder to crush Atsushi and achieve his goal.

They have become something for each other to overcome for the sake of their meaning in life.

Thus ended the first arc and passed the first stage of Shin Sookoku's relationship.

The score callback around 8:15-9:10ish in Episode 5 is from when Steve tells Maria to fire on the helicarriers and he and Bucky fight one other while Bucky screams "You're my mission" and Steve responds, "Then finish it. Because I'm with you til the end of the line," before falling. Bucky, ultimately, pulls him out of the water.

Walker lying next to a lost legacy after snarling, "I am Captain America" is such a moving way to recall Steve shoving off his helmet to remind Bucky he is Steve Rogers first and foremost and he is a friend. Feels like Steve is in the room somehow as Sam cleans the blood off the shield reminding him that Captain America was always about the man who held the shield, not the title.

Excuse me gonna go cry about this now. I love musical scoring so much. What a clever addition.
