crowley has a second room filled with houseplants in his flat, namely those plants removed from the first room to scare the others into growing better.
(because, when it came down to it, he couldn’t bear to get rid of them. it’s not their fault if they succumb to some plant disease, if the humans can’t prevent themselves getting ill why should a plant be able to? to kill them would be terribly unfair and no it is not because he has grown fond of his little plants, he’s just a firm believer in fairness shut up aziraphale)
so instead of throwing them out he puts them in the other room and continues watering them and admonishing them though maybe a little less forcefully, they need time to get back on their feet and to his surprise they grow even better than the others.

I did see David a fourth time in Orlando, FL. Unfortunately, the photos I have from that meeting came by way of a professional photographer who asked I not share them. They own the rights and if there is one thing I do respect is ownership of talented people's work. After all, as a writer, I wouldn't want my work quoted without credit and posted willy-nilly over social media. If you're an artist of any type you know what I'm talking about (yeah- you bet it's a future blog).
So, yes, the last time I met David was May of 2019; yep, just ten months before what we could never imagine in March of 2020. I wonder if we'll experience cons like pre-2020 again? Being close to our favorite actors and actresses- shaking hands, hugging and all in photo ops? I have to say I’m glad I saw him plenty of times before the pandemic blanketed its nastiness into our lives and between our affections. Very happy for vaccinations though- so there is hope for the future. Anyway, as I was saying May of 2019-
My friend actually asked me to go. I wasn’t planning to as I had seen him previously, but it was my home turf at the time. Let's just say she didn't have to twist my arm too hard to do her a favor. Whether she really was or not, she confessed to being a bit "scared" of meeting him face to face. I said, “Surely, you're joking he's- you know- just a really handsome, awesome guy and so friendly."
But she insisted this meeting would go no better than the time she met Ron Pearlman (of Beauty and the Beast). When she got to the table to meet him and couldn't remember her own name for him to write on the autograph. "Fair enough", I said and took the statue of Scrooge McDuck with me for David to sign.
Now far more accurate than my rusty memory- here's an excerpt from my journal the day after my mission accomplished: When my turn came, I simply said whatever came to me. David signed my friend’s statue of Scrooge McDuck in gold pen (of course I told the lady who asked me “silver or gold?”- "uhm- gold for sure!"). And again as the previous three times I met David, he was gracious and engaging. He was impressed with the statue as I explained my friend was too nervous to meet him face to face, so she sent me. I did introduce myself- and then explained about her nervousness and he said, “Oh my, I’m not that scary.” And I said, “Oh I know you’re not. This is my 4th time meeting you, which by strange coincidence is the 4th time you’ve met me!” He laughed a little and said “Yes, of course.”
Then I gave him a gift from my friend- a scroll. I showed it to him and he remarked how thoughtful and lovely it was; the heritage of his real surname- McDonald. I rolled it back up, put it in the tube, capped it and gave it to him. I thanked him again and he thanked me, we shook hands and that was that.
And -more or less- that's the story of my fandom of Doctor Who and David. From this point it's your guess where I'm going but I assure you it will be random, thoughtful, hopefully funny and encourage you to inquire about anything you’ve read or will soon read. SO much to share about all things David Tennant and Doctor Who!
Everyone go listen to 'The Garden' by Ailsa Black. It's an amazing song and since it's nearing christmas I think she deserves to wake up with lots of listens! So please go check out her song, it's on Spotify and possibly SoundCloud and/or iTunes as well!
