okay so for anyone who struggles to get through their one-week or 10-day hardcore diets without ending up binging- let me tell you about a tiny trick that actually made it so much easier for me to successfully finish those diets.
Here it is: Don’t weigh yourself.
Yes, I know how dumb and paradox it is but believe me, for me it worked because I - and I suppose you too - usually weigh myself on a daily basis and we all know how much knowing about our current weight influences our mood. So for me the problems always were the following:
1. If I lost more than I thought I would, I got the feeling of wanting to treat myself for being successful, which - obviously - ended up in a binge.
2. If I didn’t lose weight fast enough, I would get so damn frustrated to the point where I thought I’d never lose weight anyways, even if I starve for days - and binged.
And I know how anxious we get when we don’t get to weigh ourselves but BELIEVE ME that anxiety/curiousity is the ultimate tool to make it through this. And whenever you feel like weighing yourself, drink a whole lot of water to “manipulate” that weight (without measuring the amount you’re drinking of course) so even if you stepped on the scale, it wouldn’t be accurate and you wouldn’t be able to subtract the correct amount of water weight anyways - that always kept me going. And believe me, it works - at least for me. Also it’s just a tiny change that doesnt even cost too much energy and imagine how rewarding it will be to see a much lower number the next time you weigh yourself because it’s been some time since you last got on the scale?
Anyways, just wanted to share this little secret of mine, try it and maybe let me know if it did help you as it helped me!
