So I decided to reread SaB after reading a lot of valid critisism thinking it can't be that bad. And... Our girl uses the term 'fat' with a derogatory tone twice in literally the first page.
"Why don’t you watch your fat feet?”
That might fool some fat merchant, but it was little comfort to me.
Literally In Just the first page!
PSA: Ok, friends. There will be women. Or, there will be one woman, at least. We knew this. We knew with virtual certainty that Taylor would be coming back. (Whither Ana, remains to be seen. But she very well could be back, too.)
But nothing has changed. Buck and Eddie (and Chris) are a family. Buck and Eddie are in love. Everything that happened in season 4 still happened. And there is a very real, highly likely possibility that women are/will be a critical part of the story that gets us to canon Buddie. (Because this is network TV at the end of the day and there are only so many narrative options.)
Some people like Taylor. Others don't. Who cares! I promise someone having an opinion that is different from yours does not devalue your opinion. They can co-exist it's ok.
Can we please keep having our fun with our dumb little weewoo show? And let others have their fun? Keep scrolling, filter and block freely, ignore (or even turn off!) anons, do whatever you need to do. Do I like that heterosexuality still exists? Of course not! But I can keep it moving and focus on what brings me joy.
(This is a one-time-only post as I get back to doing very much the same for myself.)
hey, lemme say sth rq
if you have any concerns about the “moral integrity” of any fanart i have drawn don’t come to me asking if it’s Moral TM
i either don’t remember or don’t care or both tbh
also, if you’re gonna judge me as a person or my morals based on fanart i have drawn at any point in time then that’s really fucking weird and sad tbfh
Everyone takes the piss out of "I'm cis I don't have pronouns" but I can't blame them for having that thinking even if it is super fucking stupid.
Think of it this way, imagine that the "kweer" community starts getting really obnoxious right? They start talking about gender and pronouns n shit, now everyone is fully aware they have a gender but somehow not everyone knows what pronouns are, you are one of these people. So, to distance yourself from this observably shitty community you say "I have no pronouns" thinking that they're just a "kweer" issue. And that would make total sense to you because you know no better.
I'm not saying these people are right to say they have no pronouns because that's fucking stupid and they usually don't know what they're saying, not to mention that its usually a strawman made by neo users, but what I think you should take away from this is that pronouns aren't an LGBT thing. Being transgender is by all means LGBT but your pronouns are stuck to your gender, like a barnacle or a limpet. If you start telling clueless cis people that you are "kweer" because you use tiger/tigerself pronouns then they're gonna say "oh well pronouns are for them, not me. I don't want to be associated with that."
today on fandom things: do/should i respond to another fandom/ship discourse post in the sylki tag or leave it alone

The lack of anon scares me but I'm also Here For Discourse. History nerd that I am I noticed the fact that MacGregor wasn't in the army already (most aristocracy didn't "draft dodge" surprisingly!) but it did make me wonder if there were other reasons besides being not suited for warfare that meant he wasn't signed up! The potential for Angst(TM) intrigues me :D
I do also now have the thought of him being terrified of getting conscripted and Frank straight up offers to come with him despite not being a citizen really anywhere, just to protect him <3
I saw one theory that him not being in the military is supposed to be a hint for modern, largely American audiences who would be familiar with Don’t Ask Don’t Tell and even though that did not apply to the British military in WW1, it’s about the conclusions and connections audiences draw, not the historical accuracy. Basically: I wonder why he’s not in the military? Ah, he’s gay.
I personally think they just didn’t want to find a reason for the movie because it’s technically not relevant (or maybe they even cut a scene with an explanation, who knows). I would even be surprised if it came up in a sequel (unless of course for the purpose of removing him from the story ://////) but I do like your angsty headcanon, that’s very good. The idea of a Jungle Cruise sequel being a war movie bc MacGregor gets drafted and both Frank and Lily decide to accompany him is wild but I WOULD enjoy it.
But realistically? He’s probably dodging the draft or actually has some sort of physical impairment or perhaps a role we don’t know about that would excuse him from the draft (although he seems very much not the academic type lmao). Would be interesting if they ever address it, at least in some making of stuff.
Wow I love seeing bad takes from people who don't understand the concept of slowburn.
if you’re still invalidating people on the ace and aro spectrums, a n d trying to label dnp as something they’re not, while still claiming to be a fan of them??
then that’s weird of you, bigot
You'd think people who read Japanese manga, a language notorious for being difficult to translate into English, might be more skeptical of unofficial translations made by fans.
Nothing makes you care less about online discours than engaging in irl queer spaces.
I went to a pride march two days ago, it was the second pride march in my life. It was also the biggest I ever went to, there was so many of us.
Someone had an ace flag and nobody cared, people had non-binary flags and nobody cared, they were met with supports. Pansexuals were marching with their flags and signs with puns about their sexuality, side by side with bisexuals. People used the French version of the fslur, "pédé" even tho they weren't mlm (in France it's way more normalized to use slurs that don't apply to you in political context, for exemple we said a slogan that was like "On en a marre, on en a marre, de cette société qui ne respecte pas les trans et les pédés" which means "We tired, tired of this society that doesn't respect trans people and faggots".)
There were elder gays, especially elder gay men and trans women, marching side by side with us, younger queer people.
A dude was almost naked, he only had his glittered-covered underwears on, and there weren't any "thing of the children" discourse. Same for this afab people who walked shirtless.
Everyone used the word "queer" without being yelled at for it. ("On est queer, vénères, et révolutionnaires" we chanted at a time, meaning "We're queer, angry, and revolutionary")
No hate on cis gay men for being "problematic" or whatever, only solidarity between cis gay men and all the other queer identities.
I could go on and on but I think you got it. People who participate in discourse online probably don't know what it's like to be a queer person irl.
If you're a younger queer people who faces harassment by exclusionists online, know it's only online. If you ever went to a pride parade, you'd be supported.
And now I'm not saying pride events are perfect. It wasn't very accessible to disabled people, I myself experienced sensory overload. And while it wasn't the case in the march I went to, I know there were terfs in a pride march in late June, in Paris. And that a trans woman got in trouble for standing up to them, while two other trans women were physically assaulted by cis gay men.
However, it wasn't my experience, and it's not what I want to talk about. I just want to make sure people (especially on this website) understand the pointless and endless discourse doesn't mean anything irl.
