Today, July 11, is Relisha Rudd Remembrance Day.
On March 1, 2014, Relisha was last seen at a Northeast, Washington, D.C. motel with Kahlil Tatum, a janitor who worked at the D.C. General Shelter where she lived with her family. She wasn’t reported missing to D.C. police until March 19, 2014, authorities said.
In March 2014, the FBI said an arrest warrant was issued for Tatum for the murder of his wife, who was found dead in a Maryland motel room on March 20, 2014.
Tatum was later found deceased in Kenilworth Park.
Six years later Relisha still has not been found, and no one has been charged in her disappearance.
Anyone with information is asked to call the D.C. police at (202) 727-9099 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-THE-LOST. You can also submit an anonymous tip to the Black and Missing Foundation at bamfi.org.
