Ugh. I hate when people complain about representation being just ‘shoehorned in’ because 'it doesn’t actually do anything for the narrative’. Like, freaking shut up? Can’t you let diverse characters exist?? Our identities aren’t just tools to push your story forwards, they don’t need a reason to be implemented, just like you don’t need a reason for your character to have blond hair or a thin body or great social skills. Just…. shut up.
//This is not about cases like… j.k. Rowling with the whole Dumbledore is gay stuff or anything, I was mainly thinking of TAZ and it’s representation, and how some people said Lup shouldn’t have been confirmed trans because they didn’t have in character scenes where they discussed it or it wasn’t used for drama or anything and she was instead allowed to just… live. Like, Lup is a lovable trans badass, give us more badass and lovable diverse characters who’s stories don’t revolve around their identities, please….
