struggling with my Roddacember day 14 still because i thought i’d do another animation (even though i was avoiding it because they weren’t showing up when browsing the Roddacember tag, unless that was just me???) so i’m taking a break. landscapes were always going to be a struggle, so i haven’t finished today’s either.
not v proud of it, but here’s the Doom man
he needed some sleep
Out of all the trailers that have been released so far, (which is only like 5 but ok) this one has to be my favorite. The dialogue in this video practically confirms that Heaven created DOOMguy.
I would never say I’m the biggest fan of the First-Person Shooter games. Growing up in the 2000s was a weird time for the industry, moving away from the colorful platformers of old and more towards the “realistic” and violent new genre of shooters games. While FPSs had been around for a while at the time, the new generation of them were dull, drab, and boring military shooters–and while some of them were good–for a kid growing up with the Wii, it was a ugly contrast. But now that I’m older, and more fascinated with every corner of this medium I love, I decided to finally give an FPS a chance, the remake of the game that started the genre: DOOM.
Even before I threw away my stigma against FPS games, DOOM was exciting, different, and intense, built from the core as a heavy metal action game, where the player is an invincible warrior: ripping and tearing through hordes of demons with not a care in the world. The visuals were just as much of a draw, taking place on Mars, inside a vast energy research complex, where everybody inside has been slaughtered in a demonic invasion, drawing you in immediately with the beautiful contrast between the sleek white facilities of the UAC buildings, and the bloody remains of the humans that worked there.
Playing as the legendary video game icon: the Doom Slayer, the player awakens in a coffin, mysteriously hidden away in the depths of the UAC science facilities on Mars. And with as much passion for shooting monsters as the player, the Slayer puts on his iconic green battle armor, grabs his shotgun, and begins his one man war to kill all demons. Beyond this point the plot becomes almost completely optional, with most of it being in the menu logbooks, but it is there, and it’s very engaging for anyone interested, with on-point writing that makes this demonic apocalypse more comedy than tragedy.
Something that i always like to do is play the Fan made maps in Doom 2016, i always find a lot of retro things here from the old doom games like sounds , enemie and occasionally new weapons.

Doom (2005) isn’t the best movie, it’s actually kinda meh, but what makes it work for me is that it had an interesting twist on “hell” and “demons”, is that twist problematic? Yes, to say the least, but it tried to be unique and original, which is more than can be said for most blockbusters that have been churned out for years now.
This is the bridge part of the next tune for recording. Other one is waiting for vocals, so we’re moving on.
Another call for a vocalist! If anyone knows a hard/heavy rock/metal singer in Ocean County, New Jersey, or reasonably close, willing to collab, hit me up.

TROUBLE-GLASS OF LIES
Caustic Vomit - Churning Bowel Tunnels
Been listening to this a lot this morning. Hitting my Death/Doom spot
So I had no idea that Mick Gordon, the guy who did the DOOM 2016 soundtrack, also did a live performance of some tracks from the game at The Game Awards.
Forget about me.
Dont treat me with neautrality.
Too much grey to traverse
Flashes of color only hurt
At a time when I am sure
That my color only blurs
Your indifferent search
For something pure
Doom: Do you want me to be like you or totally honest?
Life: Are you saying I’m a liar?
Doom: I’m saying you’re an optimist. Same thing, basically.
