Kama Sutra didn’t just happen out of nowhere; Gusta had a fairly decent portfolio developed before he ever teamed up with Jakub Razák. Released in the Czech of the woods in 2003, Hell Medley replaces five levels in E1 with either clumsy Phobos stuff or architecture inspired by Greece, Rome, and England; a full E2 replacement that gets wicked cool as you play on; and a Tyson-style puzzle level with a freakin’ brilliant trick that leverages vanilla Doom’s generalized Z-collision model, some barrels, and a Cyberdemon.
His winking, DoomCute-tinged design is already in full swing.
If you’ve played Kama Sutra then you may even recognize a few of these dusky jewels; Adolf re-purposed E1M1, E1M8, and E3M1.
