“After Colony 196, humanity finally achieves peace. But the ashes of war give birth to a new threat. A child is building an empire to avenge her father. With gundam’s at her side, Earth will feel her fury.
The remaining pilots will battle each other to stop her. The endless waltz of war, peace, and revolution continues.
Prepare yourself for Gundam like you’ve never seen it before! A special Gundam Wing movie. Endless Waltz. Friday, November 10 at 5:00. Suit Up. Again. Only Toonami.”
The OVA version of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz (1997) premiered November 10, 2000 on Cartoon Network’s Toonami.
Finished another Wing boy. Am I the only one that kinda likes the original Deathscythe over the EW version? Giant wing’s and it’s red and black, should be a win, but I like the originals silhouette better. The sweeping shoulders are nicer than the spikes. Also not a fan of the purple/grey they use instead of the white. Plus is has the buster shield. Love that thing. Looks good with the others, and now I work on Sandrock next! The Ver Ka Wing Zero is pre ordered and I still need to get Epyon, Tallgeese and the TV Wing Gundam, but my Gundam Wing collection is coming along nicely.
At least the Endless Waltz manga shows Heero as being more human… Like bruising after Duo hits him, and sighing in relief when they stabilize the colony.
And they fill in some bits in the characterization of Duo- Trowa and Heero are programming- Duo is taking apart and rewiring panels… And they certainly add more to his “comic relief” side…
Watching Endless Waltz again for the first time in many years. Mostly because I need a refresher with all of my 1x2x1 binge reading. But now I have opinions and so you all get to deal with them.
So i may have fucked up; I thought I bought 3 Real Grade gundam models from P-Bandai but…
…turns out 2 of them were actually Master Grades.
I’m putting the Sazabi to the side for the time being, it deserves the love and care I do not have at the moment.
oh duo, i feel your pain!
Well, you knew this was coming. If Gundam Wing and Dragon Ball Z competed for the top show of Toonami back in the day, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz was the unquestioned top movie. I don’t know how many times they played it, but I never missed an airing. Watching it on Crunchyroll, without TOM and SARA taking the Absolution into Hyperspace and the Toonami interstitials, it’s impossible to get the full dose of nostalgia, but it does let me revisit this movie and see how it holds up compared to its parent series.
And the ending to Endless Waltz from the obscure Endless Waltz manga. One thing I really like about this is Heero and Relena shown to have the same height. It keeps in line with what we saw in the show and further reinforces the notion that those two are equals, the two sides of the same coin and see eye to eye.
What I don’t like is the English translation. It’s so bad…!
Wing Zero’s fall and Mariemaia’s defeat in the original, obscure Endless Waltz manga, which isn’t wide-spread due to its crappy art. Note how Heero intends to kill himself after he kills Relena (d’aww- wait, what?) and how the girl with the puppy is not supposed to parallel Relena but Mariemaia.
I have the whole thing, both in English and in French, so drop me a line if you’re interested in reading it.
by this point, perhaps, but not always ^_~
One of my favorite things… ever.
Just then, a message intermingled with noise came through from Noin.
“This is Preventer Fire… Wind, please respond!” It was a voice-only coded communication.
Zechs heard Noin’s voice for the first time in a year. But now is not the time to indulge in deep emotions.
