Lucas is engaged!!!

My driven son!! He is still in school but he couldn't wait any longer to propose to Mercedes!! (A/N: aka he wants that God-honoring woohoo and can't wait any longer)

After some time praying and fasting, Lucas went to Mr. Kilpatrick and pleaded his case. He said he felt it deep in his soul that the Lord wished for him to marry Mercedes!! Mr. Kilpatrick saw his devotion to his daughter and gave him his blessing!! Lucas was thrilled!

Then he came to me and Richard!! We reminded him that marriage is a big step and that it is something he needs to be ready for, especially since he'll be a headship and in charge of the household and finances! We were a bit worried since he only just turned 18 and hadn't finished school yet so we asked how he planned to support a family. Lucas said he's been playing "gigs" at the university to make money!! Apparently many people enjoy his piano playing and he's made a pretty penny over the last few months! We are so proud of our son and told him if he feels ready and the Lord has told him it's time then he should follow through!

One condition Mr. Kilpatrick gave Lucas was that he wanted Mercedes to be 18 before he proposed. Thankfully, that was only two months away!! Lucas used that time to buy a ring and make a plan.

Then, on her 18th birthday, Lucas took me, Mercedes, and Alessia to the Bluffs in Windenburg!! He took his love aside and asked her to marry him!! It was soo, so special!

She had no idea he was going to propose!!

I can not believe my oldest son will be getting married!!! They are still saving their first kiss for marriage, but they are holding hands now and hugging!!! <3 <3 I am so proud of him and can not wait for their big day!

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have confirmed that their relationship is officially over.

Rumours of a possible break-up began to swirl last month. Despite the pair's best efforts to preserve their blended family, as well as their multiple shared business ventures, the couple has called an end to their engagement.

On 15 April, the singer/actress and New York Yankees alum issued an exclusive joint statement to Today:

“We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

This was further emphasised in a similar joint statement the pair issued to E! News.

The Wednesday evening, prior to the announced split, A-Rod took to Instagram it what seemed to be a tribute to his ex-partner. Sharing a clip to his IG stories, A-Rod showed off a shelf dedicated to his former fiancee that included photographs of Jennifer and her children, a snap of her and her Hustlers co-star Constance Wu, a photograph of the couple themselves, and what appears to be an illustration of the couple's names centred in a heart that was drawn in the sand at the beach. Rodriguez made sure to publicly tag Lopez in this shared clip. What do YOU think the intention was of this?

Looking back at March, when the couple was rumoured to have almost split, a source told People that the "break-up was a long time coming". Another source informed the outlet that:

“[Jennifer] She’s been contemplating breaking up with Alex for six months.”

However, the baseball legend was supposedly not ready to let the relationship go, reportedly making a "big effort" to save the relationship.

A-Rod had been caught DMing random reality stars, which did not bode well for what else might be going on behind the scenes of the public eye. At the time, a People insider noted:

“Jennifer is struggling with trust issues. They are far from planning a wedding again, but they are still engaged.”

Unfortunately, it seems as though Alex was not able to win back Jen's trust. It is upsetting to see the J-Rod chapter come to a close, but it seems as though it is probably for the best, as the split seems to be amicable and the pair look to remain friends.
