it’s 2:08 in the morning
This is Joachime, the eldest of the two half breed wendigos.
Because of evil spirits, demons, and Europeans that kept destroying the sacred land of the Cree, a young indigenous women had given her life for her people. She agreed to partake in fornication with a pure wendigo, one whom was born from a wendigo mother many centuries before. The unnamed Cree woman died during birth, only one of her two children being born naturally. The second was removed just after she had passed on. Joachime, the natural born, was blessed with her mother’s purity and beauty. Unlike his older sister, James had been seen as a curse upon the land.
The boy was perceived as disgusting and foul, and was seen as the cause of his mother’s death.
The deal between the wendigos and the Cree people’s was a sort of peace treaty, where the child of the interspecies couple would live with both civilizations as a living, walking, sign of their newly formed bond. That changed once the Wendigos had found out that the woman gave life to twins.
Of course, the “demon clan” had to partake in this strange turn of events.
Zalgo, one of the most infamous of the demon clan, decided he wanted in on the deal as well. Once the Wendigos and Cree nation had come to an agreement -Get rid of the runt, then continue as planned- Zalgo decided that he wouldnt let a perfectly good boy go to waste. As one of the biggest threats to the entore forest and sacred land, he had coaxed both the Cree peoples and the Wendigo tribe into handong over the younger twin. The Cree were reluctant, sonce they saw the Albinism as a sign of superiority and strength. They didnt want this “unholy” child to come back to haunt them.
Zalgo gave them a promise, one that secured the baby halfblood wendigo from ever returning. And, despite his wretched figure and disgusting intentions, he was a man of his word.
As Joachime grew up, she had never heard or seen any trace of her twin brother. She spent most of her time learning about the gods and nature, occasionally stepping away from her duties to play with other children or help the women with their tasks.
Joachime had come to the horrifying realization of how cruel the non natives could truly be.
After a day with her father, consisting of fishing, renewing the ancient lost prayers, and bonding with the others of her race, she returned to her burnt and trampled village. The Europeans had taken to destroying everything that she had cared for, along with taking the children away from the remaining adults and changing them into what she could only describe as a sliver of the people they once were. Joachime had been overwhelmed by rage and distraught, causing her to lose all of her rationality and clear thinking.
Once Joachime had come out of her blinding rage, she could never forgive herself for the atrocities she had commit. She had slaughtered everyone her brain registered as guilty. Her fur was stained red and so her were hands. She had condemned herself, banishing herself from her sacred land and living out her days in solitude deep in the forest, protecting what little untouched land there was left.
