袁老四老火锅 yuan lao si hotpot, tropicana gardens mall.
happen to be here to look at their new property launch, and the agent recommended this place because we mentioned that we love hotpot during our chat, so we decided to give it a try. we came a bit earlier so we did avoided the peak hour which has a queue.
we ordered three different soup broth which are pork bone soup, tomato soup and signature mala soup. also ordered their signature beef slice, pork slice, fresh fish pasta, happy snowman, beancurd skin roll, sausages, and 宽面 (not sure what is this called in english).
the service staff here is pretty efficient, sauce selection was pretty okay, not the most variety i have seen but it’s more than enough for me since i do kinda have my own sauce combination that i like already. food presentation is pretty nice, as you can see from the photos, simple ingredients were presented in a elegant way.
all the soup broth are pretty good, the tomato soup is really fragrant, not too heavy and just so appetizing, one of the best. mala soup is definitely on the spicier side, so approach with caution.
i do recommend the fish paste, the texture is very bouncy and the taste is just fresh and awesome. the beef slice is also very nice when dipped into egg before cooking, it’s so thin so it does melt in your mouth if you don’t overcook it. all the food we ordered is fresh and we do enjoy the meal very much.
pricing wise i believe it is pretty standard with all the other chinese hotpot restaurant around, but it really depends on what you order. once a while treat is really not bad at all.
