Oh I have a ff7 verse for Iggy, because a cute nerd who worships technology isn't out of place in that universe her people fought with Shinra due to their use of a fusion reactor. Shinra wanted them to use their mako energy and a war broke out. Iggy's people were far technologically superior, but Shinra used dirty tricks and sabotaged the reactor causing a massive nuclear explosion. The entire area was turned into a radioactive wasteland. Only Iggy and a few others survived Iggy joined up with Avalanche and is their resident tech expert

Altcoin Roundup: High Ethereum fees kick-start a liquidity migration to layer-1 platforms

In the ever-evolving world of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, the race to establish a highly scalable, user-friendly network capable of being adopted on a global scale is a never-ending marathon where new competitors regularly join in on the race.

Anxiety is my every day superpower

    It keeps me company when no one is there, or helps me read minds and see what's behind each stare;

When I am cold, the shivers keep me warm like an avalanche hugging my silhouette; a storm

shaking my hands like a whalebone marionette playing at conducting

the destructing of stars; inside my soul there are so many stars, a blinding array of

swirling worlds, a percussion concussion of expansion,

    then contraction; a commotion of motion like Galileo prayed;

the ringing and rhyming of mechanical decay, the tinnitus

correction of stories over which the universe holds sway; light after light,

dusk after dusk, a pendulum singing a cacophony

of quarks. I am Professor X speaking soft truth to the universe,

a telepathic monolithic of the Newtonian physics, an asymmetry of entropy,

cold fusion contusion of time stop confusion; the contortion of distortion

in a cold war with my heart's laws; always asking for more and more,

    a sunspot loveknot kissing hope, breathing hope into nascent flame;

the volcanic ash beneath my eyes, falling asleep; the bridge of sighs,

and as much as I have spent years and tears, this; this is who I am

I am more than my fears, and knowing, knowing that is my superpower.

Finn Tastic - Club Style DJ

Finn Tastic is an award-winning DJ known for his amazing disco-inspired dance tunes.

What began as a love of the disco era has grown to encompass everything from obscure deep cuts of 80's synthpop to trippy acid-tinged techno - music which builds on the foundations laid in smokey, sweaty rooms lit by mirror balls all those years ago. It all comes down to his love of a good tune, and the pursuit of a good boog

Finn Tastic is also a qualified and trained musician having graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Melbourne in 2018. He has toured nationally playing at some of Australia's biggest alternative festivals and has recording contracts with three independent indi labels including Juno records. Finn Tastic sophisticated approach to music lends itself to both indi, festival, and street events as it does to corporate parties and functions.

"Australian artist Finn Tastic’s music career is still in its infancy, but he's already released some stellar stuff, most notably on Whiskey Disco, Hotfoot, and, most recently, MixCult Digital. "Identification Unknown", the Melbourne-based producer's first outing on Frank Music, is a genuine earworm: a bubbly chunk of Italo-disco/nu-disco fusion rich in sparkling synth sounds, chugging, arpeggio-style bass, early Pet Shop Boys stabs, and cheery female vocals. Donald Dust kicks off the accompanying remix package with a darker, pitched-up take that employs more ghostly synth sounds before Longhair brilliantly re-casts it as a thickset chunk of Balearic boogie underpinned by a superb synth bassline. Finally, experienced nu-disco head Johannes Albert emphasizes the track's Italo-disco influences on a tight and dancefloor-friendly "DJ Edit."  -- Juno Download July 20 "Finn Tastic is obsessed with the art of making people move. He’s renowned on the streets of Melbourne for his distinctively groovy “sampledelic disco”, and even more so for his rambunctious DJ sets. Inspired by collage artists like The Avalanches and In Flagranti, he’s always found working with samples “endlessly exciting” as he finds new “ways to smash bits from five different tracks together and create coherent new compositions"  -- Beats Magazine

    @celebistarz thank you so much!

“please anything post advent children... there isnt enough of "zack comes back to life/is discovered to actually be alive and shakes cloud out of his angsty funk" content

adding to this, bonus points if barret/cid/some other oblivious avalanche member thinks "huh have you seen cloud lately? he seems a lot happier all of a sudden. why is he looking at zack like that? they must be really close as bros :)) must be great having such a good bro friend come back like that :))" and is completely exasperated once someone points out "i think they like each other... in a more than bros way"”

Let me know what you think!❤️ and if anyone has any more ideas I’d be happy to to write more!

    <<<>>>

The bell above the door to Seventh Heaven jingles, and heavy boot steps approach the bar. Tifa spins on her heel away from the sink, and heads out of the kitchen to greet the customer.

But the person waiting at the counter is not just any old customer. Her breath is gone from her lungs at the sight of the one and only Zack Fair.

    “Is Cloud here?”

    >>><<<

It’s been three weeks since Zack showed up at the bar, and honestly, Tifa can say with confidence that she’s never seen Cloud in a better mood.

The first day had been rough. Cloud had immediately fallen into a stupor; unsure if anything was real, angry at Tifa for playing along with his mind’s games, and convinced Sephiroth was just around the corner. He wouldn’t even go near Zack, wouldn’t let him explain. He locked himself in his room, and every time Tifa knocked, she would hear the rattle on the mechanisms of the Fusion Sword.

But on the fifth day, with Zack still waiting patiently, he finally accepted that it wasn’t just one of his hallucinations. He allowed himself the healing he so desperately needed.

Tifa had walked up the stairs with a glass of water and hopes to coax Cloud out of his room, and instead saw the door swung wide, and Cloud sobbing hysterically into Zack’s chest.

From that day, things only went uphill. Cloud would join the crew for dinners at the big table downstairs, he would hang around and help instead of running off at every opportunity on a ‘delivery’, and he would smile. Really smile.

Zack was at his side most of the time, but when he wasn’t, he was usually helping whoever was running the bar. He made the place warmer, with his dad jokes and upbeat attitude.

Marlene and Denzel were in love with him. Marlene would always beg him to carry her around on his back, and Denzel would follow him around, asking random questions only a curious child would ask.

Tifa was concerned, at first, that Cloud would be upset at their new favourite person. But he seemed perfectly content. Even he knew the gravitational pull Zack had about him.

    >>><<<

It wasn’t until the second week of Zack’s reappearance that Tifa had decided to ask the question that was on everyone’s minds.

“Zack…” Tifa had began, hesitant. She thought back to Cloud’s reactions at her questioning his past; she’d since learned to steer clear of certain topics, and it had just become natural over time. So it felt foreign and selfish to even be bringing it up. “Can I ask you something?”

“Hm? Of course. Shoot.” Zack smiled brightly at her.

“I— well… how are you here…?” She struggled to phrase the question.

Zack blinked, his smile fading from his face. Tifa’s stomach turned.

    “Aerith.” He said, simply.

Tifa’s confusion only increased with that. “What do you mean?”

“Aerith sent me back. Being a Cetra and all, she can do some pretty crazy stuff, even from the lifestream. She knew Cloud was… she knew Cloud needed me. So she sent me back.” He leaned his hip on the counter, crossing his arms.

“Are you going to have to… leave? When he’s okay again?” Tifa’s mind filled with anxiety. She couldn’t imagine Cloud having to deal with losing Zack for a second time.

“No! That’s the great part!” Zack suddenly exclaimed, face lit up again with happiness. “I get to stay, live out my life like I was supposed to. Here, with Cloud.”

    >>><<<

Barret’s at the bar, sipping at a glass of whiskey. Tifa’s wiping the counters quietly. There’s no customers, it’s late on a Tuesday. The only sound is the radio playing some old song in the background.

“Say, Tifa?” Barret says, swirling his glass around on the counter. The ice clinks.

“Hm?” Tifa abandons her cloth, the counters are clean anyway.

“I just… noticed the merc… he seems a lot happier since his SOLDIER buddy came back. Is that just me?”

Tifa smiles. “No, it’s not just you. I agree. He’s been in a bad place for too long. I think he deserves something good like this.”

“Nothin’ like seein’ old friends.” He muses.

Tifa smiles, and ducks her head to try to hide it, but Barret catches it.

“Whatchu smilin’ about?” He grunts, pointing his finger at her, eyes narrowed. But a smile is playing on his lips too.

“I think… uh. I think they’re a little more than friends, Barret.” She coughs into her hand.

“I—wha— you mean… they ain’t sparring in their room at night?!” Barret exclaims. His eyes go wide and his face reddens. “Shit… I asked Cloud if they could take their nightly training outside. Now I know why he was lookin’ at me all funny…”

    Tifa can’t stop the laughter.

    High Gas Fees haunting Uniswap

Uniswap is a decentralized exchange, which has two smart contracts on the Ethereum platform, as well as a public, open-source front-end client. Uniswap lets users swap ERC20 tokens, including ETH, with other ERC20 tokens.

Users can also contribute to liquidity pools of ERC20 tokens and earn commission from that.

Uniswap trading fees have hit high-double digit figures as the Ethereum price spiked.

The growing popularity of DeFi has changed the crypto industry in many ways; yield farmers and traders are trying to maximize their profit making opportunities.

This, amongst other factors, has resulted in growing Ethereum Gas Fees, which is becoming problematic for users.

    Functionalities

Uniswap, being decentralized, eliminates the need for third parties in transactions. It is 100% on-chain. It eliminates the need for third parties in transactions.

The technical details are as described by Sal Miah below:

“Swapping in Uniswap involves its two smart contracts in Ethereum; these are the factory and exchange contracts. The factory contract creates exchange contracts for ERC20 tokens without any preexisting contract. It also serves as a registry for all ERC20 tokens added into the system. Initiating the factory contact creates a unique exchange contract for each of the ERC20 tokens.

For the exchange to be successful, the platform requires a liquidity pool containing several types of ERC20 tokens. Users’ contribution to the liquidity pool creates a source of ERC20 tokens from which swapping is possible. Uniswap compensates its contributing members by giving the percentage of the transaction fee attracted by swapping. Each swap attracts a fee of 0.3%”.

    Issues

As DeFis grew more popular in 2020, the impact of which is considerable, taking into account that Uniswap surpassed Coinbase Pro in trading volume. This is a milestone worth recognizing.

However, as the time went on, transactions became excessively expensive. It resulted in users spending almost $7 million in ETH to complete their trades.

Some market participants claim that “the increased popularity of “Dog meme coins” is what caused fees to go up the way that it did. SHIB and other Doge copycats like KISHU, SHIH, CoSHI, and ELON allegedly took up massive amounts of block space, causing large gas spikes”.

As Samyuktha Sriram writing for Benzinga magazine noticed, in one instance, a user paid $165 in fees to complete a $200 swap for AKITA on Uniswap.

    Pancake swap

PancakeSwap is a decentralized exchange running on Binance Smart Chain, with lots of other features that let you earn and win tokens. The exchange is an automated market maker that allows two tokens to be exchanged on the Binance Smart Chain. On top of that, you can earn CAKE with yield farms, earn CAKE with Staking, and earn even more tokens with Syrup pools.

In terms of fees, “a swap on Pancakeswap only carries a 0.2% fee versus the 0.3% fee on Uniswap. The entire 0.3% fee on Uniswap goes to liquidity providers. Whereas only 0.17% of Pancakeswap 0.2% fee goes to LPs”.

    Zero

Zero exchange is powered by the Avalanche blockchain. It offers near instantaneous transaction times and zero transaction fees. The only issue is that it is necessary to swap the ETH or supported stablecoin into the Avalanche version of that token first, a process that has to be conducted on the Ethereum network.

1inch is an exchange aggregator that scans different decentralized exchanges to find the best price. It also offers saving up to 42% on gas fees, through its CHI Gastoken innovation.

    Anyswap

Some claim that Anyswap can be said to be the top Uniswap alternative in the DeFi space. The Anyswap protocol lets users swap more than just ETH and ERC-20 tokens, as it accommodates swaps of tokens across different blockchains.

“It can operate across several chains because it uses Fusion chain instead of ethereum like Uniswap. The fusion chain runs on the DCRM technology to bring about interoperability, which Anyswap uses for its protocol. In essence, the Anyswap can swap tokens that use EdDSA or ECDSA as its signature algorithm.

Users are able to swap between ETH, ERC-20 token, USDT, BTC, FSN, etc. This is a truly decentralized exchange as Anyswap has no control over your investments and funds”.

FEATURE: How Geography Affects Battle in One Piece

How much does the lay of the land influence the outcome of a fight? When we think of anime battles, we generally tend to focus on the combatants themselves — their specific abilities and how their various powers might play off each other. But battles are more than a contest of pure abilities, and in conflicts with a grand scale, the geography of the landscape and positioning of forces can be even more consequential than individual strength. I always enjoy a story that manages to evoke a sense of geographical solidity, moving beyond the simple “combatants in an open field” to embrace fights that ramble across castles, mountains, or even entire kingdoms. Recently, I’ve been delighted to see how well Eiichiro Oda evokes a sense of space in his monumental One Piece.

Like many of One Piece’s best elements, Oda’s skill for manipulating geography as a dramatic tool develops steadily over time. But even in the saga’s early arcs, it’s easy to see how he’s already using time and space to add unique dynamics to his fights, beyond the simple “can this character beat that other character.” Usopp’s introductory arc offers the earliest examples of this tendency, hinging its conflicts on drama like “can we intercept the enemies as they’re making landfall,” and making Kuro’s movement across the island a consistent, evolving threat. These flourishes might not seem that substantial, but they give the conflict a sense of dynamics beyond pure collisions of force, while simultaneously giving Syrup Village a greater sense of lived-in solidity, making it that much easier to care about the village’s fate.

Later on, things start getting far more geographically interesting. As the Straw Hats arrive at unique islands like Little Garden and Whiskey Peak, the pure excitement of discovering strange new ecosystems and natural wonders starts to become one of the show’s greatest appeals. While any number of shows offer exciting battles, One Piece’s emphasis on the joy of discovery, rather than combat, consistently sets it apart. Through his unique environments, Oda makes each new island a reward unto itself, simply as a place to be discovered and explored.

At the same time, Oda begins integrating these strange, unique environments into the fundamental course of his narrative drama. Along with the pirate Wapol, one of the principal antagonists of the Drum Island arc is simply the inhospitable mountain range the arc inhabits. The Straw Hats contend with sheer cliff faces, avalanches, frigid temperatures, and much else, taking advantage of the scenery to sculpt conflicts that circumvent the genre’s tendency toward purely fight-based drama. As a result, the audience is not only offered a more diverse array of hooks but also gets a much clearer impression of Drum Island as a living place, not just a name and a villain.

By the time the Straw Hats reach Alabasta, Oda’s geographic ambitions have grown even grander, as he begins to introduce full-on maps of the overall field of conflict. Alabasta’s conflict stretches across an entire country and offers the audience the perspective of a general in his field tent, marshaling forces for total war. Conflicts can now be constructed purely around timing and geography, like when Luffy squares off with Crocodile in order to let his crew cross the desert, or the team’s desperate gambit to get Vivi inside the capital city. Cities now have a sense of substance and specificity; each new venue is distinct, with even the various desert towns possessing more individuality than the East Blue’s largely similar islands.

Because of this, as Alabasta’s cities fall, their ruin feels appropriately apocalyptic — like something of true value is being lost. Alabasta’s cities have histories and personalities, and watching them be destroyed makes both the scale of these conflicts and the brutality of their villains painfully clear. When stakes and geography are unclear, fights can start to feel indulgent or weightless. By grounding Alabasta’s battles in the desperate will of its people and the distinct beauty of their homes, Oda makes every clash feel like the last bulwark against the end of the world.

By the time One Piece arrives at Skypiea, all of these emerging strengths have clicked into place, making for an arc that first dazzles through the pure inventiveness of its scenery and later thrills through the tactical complexity of mastering that terrain. The journey through Skypiea allows all of the Straw Hats to express their distinct strengths, make friends across a variety of cultures, and discover hidden histories as they navigate cloud rivers, ancient forests, and mysterious ruins. With Skypiea’s history and geography so clearly established, the arc is able to culminate in battles with a truly absurd sense of scale, where it feels like the sky itself is falling.

Since then, One Piece has maintained this marvelous fusion of adventurous scene-setting and destructive finales, with arcs like Enies’ Lobby demonstrating its profound dramatical appeal. It’s one thing to be told that some character’s power is frightening; it’s quite another to see how their power impacts the very geography of the world around them, shattering bridges and toppling towers as they go. Through Enies’ Lobby and Thriller Bark, Oda demonstrates that establishing a clear hostile environment is just as effective as a friendly one — after all, who doesn’t want to see a monument to evil get reduced to rubble, one strike at a time? One Piece’s emphasis on geography bolsters both its creative and dramatic appeal, and I can’t wait to see how Oda employs this trick next!
