If I’m being honest, I’m starting to get more annoyed by this “we love this character more than you” thing that’s been going on more than the actual accusation that we don’t like x character as much as they think we do. Why is it a fucking competition about who likes what character more and why is it used as a moral argument? To make your side look better in a ship war? It’s annoying, it doesn’t make you look good, it makes people not wanna bother participating in the fandom because it’s just petty drama every few days over opinions on fictional characters.
On the actual Emerie argument: gwynriels, Valkyrie stans, regardless of what you identify your opinions to align with, with reason, you’re allowed to have any opinion you want on her character and how she was written just like with any other character (though I agree with the idea that some arguments do cross some lines, but a discussion can be had on those). You’re allowed to produce any amount of content you want on her just like with any other character, because when we read the books we all gravitate towards liking and disliking different parts of it. If you like e/riel, gwynriel, whatever, that’s your opinion, but for the love of god stop acting like your ship or stan of certain characters gives you some kind of moral superiority over others. Sometimes, it’s not that deep, and not everything is a personal attack or warrants personally attacking someone.
