The wizarding world is a battleground. War has consumed the lives of witches and wizards alike, with the Order of The Phoenix and the Death Eaters fighting for control, leaving those who are stuck in the middle with the choice to either pick a side, or do whatever it takes to survive.
Inferi-HQ is a mature, Marauders Era, First War roleplay set in the year 1978. We are an appless group looking for dedicated writers to come and join us as we throw our most beloved characters in to the heart of the war.

One of my favourite little details in Gideon the Ninth is how Harrow's first reaction to a corpse is calling dibs, while everyone else is horrified.
The Ninth House doesn't have the resources to be squeamish, and Harrow herself is probably in charge of both death rites and what to do with the bodies, so it makes sense for her to respond to a corpse with plans to make use of it. But no other house is falling apart in the same way and bone magic might be the only type of necromancy where dead bodies are necessary*, so of course they saw Harrow's actions as scavenging and callous.
(*in book 2, Harrow does a fair amount of work with living people's bones, but that doesn't count because she couldn't do that before)
#gideon the ninth #harrowhark nonagesimus #the locked tomb #the locked tomb trilogy #let's be clear; Harrow is absolutely a callous scavenger but it makes sense for her to be #I just like her and these little details
Madeleine had managed bed rest better than she thought she would. She still wasn’t used to being doted and waited on constantly. That sort of thing was supposed to be a luxury and not a necessity. However, if it meant that the twins were healthy she could consent to it. Reed didn’t seem to be complaining either since it meant an endless string of naps and cuddles. It was like she was trying to get her beauty sleep in before two screaming babies came along to disrupt her peace. All in all the day started nicely, but there was always the possibility of an unwanted surprise like her sister to crop up.

“Did you ever know, dear, how much you took away with you when you left? You have stripped me even of my past, even of the things we never shared.”
