    Sand - Part 3 (Sodapop x Reader)

    Warning: Swearing and Sandy

    Part 2

"Sandy!" Soda jogged up to the Soc girl.

"What's up?" Sandy asked, twirling her hair a bit.

Soda smiled thinly, "I think you should go home. Back to Florida."

"What?!" Sandy screeched, "Why? I- I thought you wanted me here!"

Soda sighed, "You weren't very nice to Y/n. And-"

"It's Y/n?" Sandy huffed, "Of course. You wouldn't stop talking about her yesterday! Y/n Y/n Y/n! It's all you talked about! You were supposed to be talking to me."

"She's my family." Soda said firmly, "You don't get to talk that way about my family. Sandy. Please tell me the real reason you came back to Tulsa."

Sandy looked down at her shoes, "I thought that you might want to come to Florida with me. My family has let up a bit and yeah, it might take some convincing, but you could come with me! The baby is so sweet and I thought maybe you would want to see her and-"

"Sandy." Soda cut her off, "I'm not coming with you. I can't leave Tulsa."

"Then I could move back to Tulsa!"

Soda's jaw clenched and he shook his head, "I was willing to overlook the fact that you cheated on me, but then you broke up with me. I thought I was going to marry you." He added lowly, "I finally got over you, with the help of Y/n, and then you come back. I'm not going to help you raise a kid that's not mine. You brought this upon yourself. Don't come running back to me. We're done. But I thought you made that clear when you got knocked up."

"Fine." Sandy said, tears brimming her eyes, "Then here." Sandy took off the necklace and handed it back to Soda. "I guess I don't need this anymore."

"I guess you don't." He said.

    Soda turned and walked away.

    And it felt so good.

Soda stepped into the Curtis house, taking a deep breath. A huge weight had just been lifted from his shoulders. He felt free.

Darry looked up at the sound of the door. His face didn't show any emotion as he looked at his younger brother.

"So?" Darry said, "Have you come to your senses?"

"Yeah." Soda mumbled, "I'm sorry. You were right. Sandy was out of line and I just wanted some happiness back. But I didn't realize that you guys were the ones to make me happy. I'm sorry."

Darry nodded, a proud smile on his lips. Darry stood and engulfed Soda in a hug, "Good to have you back."

    "Good to be back."

"Soda?" Pony peeked into the room, "You're back!" Pony gave Soda a big hug, "Did you talk to Y/n?"

"No." Soda swallowed, "But I talked to Sandy. She's going back to Florida. At my insistence."

Pony smiled, "Good. But you have to talk to Y/n. You need to apologize."

"Do you know where she is?" Soda asked, fingering the necklace that was wound around his wrist.

"No." Pony said sadly, "But Johnny had an idea."

"Thanks Shepard." Darry said into the phone. "Yeah." He said after a pause, "We're gonna talk to the Brumley gang. Hopefully they'll keep an eye out too." Another pause, "Thanks again. We owe ya."

Darry hands up the phone and looks around the room. The whole gang is there, awaiting his instructions.

But honestly, he doesn't know what to do himself.

Darry was used to helping the gang out and keeping them out of trouble- he had to learn ever since his parents passed- but this was bigger. One of their members was gone. Not missing- Y/n made it clear that she didn't want to talk- but somehow that was more concerning. The gang always stuck together. So, it was worrisome when one of them didn't want to be found.

Another problem was that Y/n was a very good greaser. She was sweet and kind, but could also beat up a Soc by herself. It was something that they all valued her for. She had connections everywhere and knew every inch of Tulsa. So, if she didn't want to be found, she wouldn't be found.

"Shepard said he would keep an eye out," Darry informed everyone, "But he hasn't seen her." When no one answered, he mumbled, "I'm gonna call the Brumley Boys."

Darry sighed and picked the phone back up. He punched in the numbers and waited for the ringing.

"Hello?" A gruff voice said on the other side.

"Hey. This is Darrel Curtis." Darry said, "This the Brumley gang?"

    "Yeah. Why?"

Darry rubbed his temples, "One of our members is missing. Her name is Y/n. We wanted to know if any of you have seen her?"

    "Y/n? Y/n L/n?" The guy asked.

"Yeah... That's the one." Darry said cautiously, "Why? Have you seen her?"

"Uh, yeah. She's here. With us."

Darry scoffed, drawing the attention of the rest of the gang, "Well, how the hell did she get over there? That's over an hour away!" (I'm going off today's google maps so....)

Soda perked up. Was Y/n in Brumley? How did she get there? Why was she there?

Darry had some more verbal interaction with the guy from Brumley before hanging up angrily. "We gotta go to fucking Brumley." Darry said, rubbing his temples again.

It was supposed to be dark, but the lights in the Curtis house were still on.

Y/n had been picked up by Darry at Brumley. They had spent the car ride in silence. But once they got outside the Curtis house, Darry had pulled her aside.

Darry enveloped her in a bear hug, "Don't ever do that again." He said, "I know that Soda was stupid, but he's not the only one in the gang. We were worried about you. A lot. Just... please tell us next time."

"I know." Y/n whispered, hugging Darry back, "Thanks Superman. I'm sorry."

"You better be!" Darry laughed, "I'll skin you if you ever do that again!" He pushed her away and slugged her lightly on the arm.

"Way to ruin the mood." Y/n scoffed. The girl then turned to the Curtis house. "It's gonna be hell in there, isn't it?"

"From some of them." Darry nodded, "But we're all just happy to see you."

"Alright." Y/n said, "Let's get this over with."

There will be a Part 4!

    Drunk (Sodapop x Reader)

    (Gender-neutral pronouns)

    Warnings: Drinking

I stumble into the Curtis house, a crazed grin on my lips. I take another swig from the beer bottle clutched in my hands. I try to see, but it's dark, and I end up tripping over the couch and crashing to the floor.

The light flickers on. "Y/n!" I hear someone shout, "Where the hell were you? Are you okay?" My vision is a little fuzzy, but I think it's Darry.

"Hey! Superman!" I slur, raising my bottle. I look closely at the bottle before taking another drink.

"Are you drunk?" Darry asks, kneeling down in front of me. I squint, not saying anything. It's not that I won't say anything, but that I can't say anything. My tongue doesn't seem to work.

That's a funny word. "Heh." I chuckle to myself.

More murmurs come from the room, and it's just then that I realize that the rest of the gang is there, watching me nervously.

"Hey guys!" I say, trying to stand. After a few failed attempts, I give up and sit back down, "When did you get here?"

"Y/n." Darry says slowly, "I need you to listen to me and answer me. How many drinks did you have?"

I lean back a bit, thinking hard, "I....don't know." My head lolls to the side. "I think... five. Or ten. Or twenty? Math doesn't make sense." Darry sighs as I go off rambling, "You know what also doesn't make sense? The word tongue. It's a funny word. Tongue. Tongue tongue tongue tongue. See? It doesn't work."

"Y/n!" Darry says harshly, snapping me out of it, "Can you remember anything? Where were you?"

"At a party!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up and sloshing the beer onto my clothes. "Ew."

"What happened at the party?" Darry asks.

"It was loud. And there were people. Someone gave me a drink. And then another. There were a lot of people. A lot of boys. I don't like boys. Except for you guys. You guys are usually nice."

Darry's eyebrows furrow, "Did anyone try and take advantage of you?"

    "No." I say defiantly.

    "That's good." Darry nods.

"Hey, Dar?" Someone- I think Soda- says, "Should we get her cleaned up?"

"Yeah." Darry sighs and helps me stand, "Give me the beer." He tries and takes it from me. But it's mine.

"No." I grab it away, "It's mine."

"Y/n." Darry tries again, holding his hand out, "Give me the beer."

"No! It's my baby!" I yell.

"It's not your child." Darry says.

"Yes it is!" I hold it close to me before taking another drink, "I'll take care of it. I'll do a better job than my parents! I promise!" I laugh before remembering all that happened in my childhood. I shrug, brushing it off.

The house is silent, taking in my words.

Black spots appear in the corner of my eyes, "I don't feel very good." I mumble. A gurgling sound comes from my stomach, and I gag, running towards the bathroom.

I barely make it to the toilet before upheaving the contents of my stomach. The bile coats my mouth, leaving a stench that is very unpleasant.

"Hey, hey." I hear someone whisper before my hair is brushed out of my face, "It's okay. Let it out. You'll be fine."

I turn my head to see Soda smiling softly at me. I nod sadly, "I feel so stupid." I say, a little more sober.

"Why'd you do it?" Soda asks, rubbing my back, "I didn't think you were the type to drink."

I shrug, "I'm not. I guess I did it to forget. My... mom was not the best today and I wanted to forget that. There didn't seem like a better option."

"There's always a better option." Soda says, "Like... come to me. We can talk."

I shake my head, "Talking doesn't take the bruises away."

"Neither does drinking." He points out.

"Touche." I mumble before throwing up again.

Soda grimaces. He takes a towel and wipes my face off, "You good?" He asks quietly.

    "For now."

"Come on." Soda helps me stand and he leads me to his and Pony's room, "Pony can sleep with Darry tonight. You need some good rest. And you're not going back to your place."

"Alright." I smile slightly, "Thanks Sods."

"No problem." Soda hands me one of his clean shirts and I change. (Soda has his back turned like the gentleman he is) I get into the bed and snuggle under the covers.

Soda sits on the edge of the bed and says, "And, even though talking may not help a lot, it'll at least help a little. We're here for you. I'm here for you. Remember that."

"Thank you Sodapop." I say sincerely, "I'll remember that."

    And I did.

Sand- Part 2 (Sodapop x Reader)

    Warning: Sandy and swearing

    Part 1

The gang didn't see Y/n for a week. And everyday, Sandy seemed to be over for longer and longer. Eventually, the gang got tired of Sandy and Soda, so they tried to make themselves scarce too.

Darry and Steve started working overtime, claiming that they needed more money. Pony and Johnny stayed later after school, claiming that they had more homework or a study group to attend. Two-Bit stayed at his own home, claiming that he wanted to spend more time with his kid sister. Dally didn't make an excuse. He just stopped coming.

To be truthful, the gang had figured out pretty early into Sandy coming back that Y/n had the hots for Soda. Pony and Johnny had their suspicions sooner on, but it soon became crystal clear that Y/n liked Soda. It became clear to everyone except Soda.

Soda was so caught up in Sandy, that he didn't even notice his brother's not spending as much time in the house- much less Y/n liking him. It was just Sandy, Sandy, Sandy.

And no one knew what to do about it. At some point, they had all tried talking to Soda, but that was a lost cause.

But one day, they had a plan. While Soda and Sandy were out in the town (just as friends, they claimed) the rest of the gang finally met up at the Curtis house.

"What are we gonna do?" Two-Bit asked, slumping down on the floor.

    "I don't know." Pony shrugged half-heartedly.

"We can't do anything." Johnny said, "We all know that Sandy will have to go back to Florida at some point and break Soda's heart all over again!"

"What if she doesn't?" Steve muttered, "What if she stays and then brings the baby and then they get back together and then start a family and then-"

"Steve!" Darry snapped him out of it, "Calm down. She won't do that. If she didn't let Soda be apart of her family then, what's different now?"

"That she knows what she's doing." Pony pointed out, "She got used to the baby and knows how to take care of it."

"That doesn't change the fact that she cheated on him in the first place!" Dally spoke for the first time, surprisingly pissed off. He huffed and crossed his arms, "What?" He shrugged it off, "I don't like her."

"Then how do we get rid of her?" Steve asked.

    No one had an answer.

"We'll come back to that." Johnny decided, "Are we gonna address the other elephant in the room?"

"What elephant?" Two-Bit looked around, chuckling at his own joke.

"Y/n." Darry sighed, "Has anyone even seen her the past week?"

The boys all shook their heads.

"Pony, Johnny," Darry tried again, "Has she been at school?"

"No." The two greasers responded together.

The boy looked up, surprised. "What?"

"Any parties or anything?" Darry said, "You know how Y/n gets when she gets mad or sad."

"Haven't been to many parties myself." Dally said.

"D-Do you think she skipped town?" Pony asked meekly after a minute.

None of the boys could answer.

"She wouldn't have." Steve shook his head, "Y/n/n is not the type of person to bail on the people she cares about. She would've told one of us."

    They mumbled words of agreement.

Just as Johnny was about to suggest something, the door slammed open and Soda and Sandy walked in, laughing.

"Oh." Sandy said as she noticed the gang glaring at her. Sandy was a little confused. She used to be such good friends with the gang and then she moved away. Now it seemed as if they didn't like her.

"There you guys are!" Soda smiled, oblivious, "I haven't seen you guys in forever!"

"Yeah." Steve muttered, "That was the point."

"Look what Soda gave me!" Sandy showed them a necklace that was hanging from her neck.

The mood darkened. Unbeknownst to Sandy, that was the necklace Soda had planned to give to Y/n for her birthday in a month or two. He had seen it in a store window and thought of her. He saved up for months and treasured it, anxiously waiting for her birthday to give it to her. And now he had given it to Sandy.

    The gangs' jaws clenched.

The gang all favored Y/n over Sandy. Y/n was a mother or sister figure to many of them, and they were very protective of her. They all loved her, (in a sisterly way) even if some of them wouldn't admit it.

And Sandy broke Soda's heart. Soda had planned on proposing to Sandy. He planned a life with her. After she broke up with him and moved away, he hadn't been himself. He was holed up in his room or the bathroom, constantly crying or having panic attacks. Even after a couple of weeks, he still seemed like a shell of his former self.

And the only person that could remotely help him was Y/n. He let her into his room, even when he wouldn't let anyone else in. She consoled him and comforted him. Soda leaned heavily on Y/n those couple weeks, and she was the only one who could make him smile. It took some time, but Y/n helped Soda return to the way he was.

And the gang just now realized that Y/n had feelings for Soda all along. That meant that when Soda was with Sandy and gushing about how he was gonna marry her some day, Y/n had sat quietly, smiling sadly. When Sandy had broken up with Soda, Y/n was there, comforting him, maybe even having a smidgen of hope that she could now be his girl. And now Sandy was back, erasing that hope once and for all.

Soda had unintentionally played with her feelings. He had given her hope then torn it away from her.

    No wonder Y/n was heartbroken.

    The entire gang was livid.

    Especially Dally.

When Y/n was first introduced to the gang, Dally, much like he had done with Johnny, had taken her under his wing. And so, it was understandable that he was livid.

And when Dallas Winston gets livid, you do not want to be on the receiving end of it.

"How dare you." He stalked up to Soda, "How dare you give that- that slut Y/n's necklace."

"Hey!" Soda barked, moving in front of Sandy, "Don't call her that!"

"Oh!" Dally laughed sarcastically, "I have many other names. Would you like... whore? Or bitch? Or-"

"Stop it!" Soda yelled. "I wanted to give Sandy something and what Y/n doesn't know won't hurt her!"

A small voice came from behind them all, "And what if I do know?"

They all turned, surprised, to see Y/n leaning heavily against the kitchen doorway, seeming as if she couldn't hold herself up, "I-I came in through the back door." She mumbled, "Wanted to see how Pony and Johnny were doing on their schoolwork."

"Y/N!" Pony cried and ran to her to give her a big hug. Johnny quickly followed.

"Hey boys." She smiled, but it didn't reach her eyes.

"Is this the girl you were talking about?" Sandy scoffed, still behind Soda. Sandy looked Y/n up and down, "I don't understand why you all keep her around. Looks like a kicked puppy."

Dally growled and lunged towards Sandy. Darry quickly got up and held him back.

Sandy smirked, pleased to have gotten a reaction out of one of them. Now all she needed was a reaction from Y/n herself, "Yeah." Sandy continued, "Probably sleeps around too. She's the one you should be calling a slut and a whore."

"Okay!" Darry let go of Dally, "That's it!" Darry roared, "Get her out!"

Soda glared at him, but whispered some words to Sandy, who promptly left.

"I can't believe that you would choose Sandy over Y/n!" Darry started yelling, "Sandy cheated and hurt you! Don't you remember? And then Y/n came and helped you! After all she's done for you, at the first sign of Sandy, you run back to her! Like a coward! Don't you fucking see?! You can't choose Sandy over us! Especially when Y/n deserves so much more credit! You were so fucking excited when you finally bought the necklace! Do you remember how long you saved up for that? And then you just turn around and give it to Sandy!" Darry stopped and took a deep breath, "Y/n deserves so much more from you, and yet you still choose that bitch over her."

Soda stared at him, wide eyed. He had never been on the other side of Darry's yelling. He didn't know what to think.

And then he realized that Darry was right.

Y/n was there for him through everything. And he had dropped her and this friendship that they had built for Sandy. The girl who had cheated on him then broke up with him. The girl who had just called Y/n a whore and a slut.

The rest of the gang was shocked too. They knew that Darry cared about Y/n- he cared about all of them- but they didn't realize how far he would go to protect them. He would even go as far to yell at his own sibling when they fucked up.

"I-" Soda's mouth opened, but it seemed as if he couldn't form a sentence.

"Hey." Steve interrupted the moment, "Where did Y/n go?"

They all turned to where Y/n was, but she had disappeared.

"Great." Two-Bit groaned, "We just got her back, and now she's gone."
