Good afternoon. The artist who did the official Halloween illustrations of Kira/Athrun/Lacus/Cagalli for the Gundam Cafe in Japan tweeted about the cosplay aspect allowed for the Halloween party events there, and in doing so posted this extra fanart along with it.

1/144 High Grade Cosmic Era [Revive] - Straight build with seamline removal, painted details, water slide decals, panel lining, topcoat
It’s been awhile since I did a high grade straight build, and it was a very welcome experience after working on customs extensively. With the release of the HGCE Infinite Justice Gundam Revive/2.0 this year, I figured it was the perfect time to make an entry into the Cosmic Era. The mobile suit designs for the Cosmic Era are some of the best ever created for Gundam, despite the writing for the two main series to be somewhat lacking. Of all the fantastic designs to come from this timeline, the Infinite Justice Gundam is perhaps my personal favorite.
This kit is simply superb, especially for a high grade. Color accuracy and parts seperation is fantastic, almost bordering on Real Grade quality. The only parts that need color detailing are the beam saber hilts, the beam rifle, the small thrusters on the side skirts, the vents on the Fatum 01, and the detail on the beam shield generator. I have painted these all including applying gun metal gray on the vulcans, except the purple on the beam saber hilts. The joints could also be painted with titnanium silver since the injection silver plastic comes across as more of a light gray. Some additional surface detail would have been nice, as there are few panel lines. However, panel lines have been used to conceal where seamlines would previously have been on older kits. There is one seamline on the inner shoulder, but even then it’s easy to remove and not that noticeable if not removed.
The Infinite Justice Gundam HGCE Revive boasts solid joints and a great range of articulation, with a complete set of beam effect parts for the various beam blades signature to the Gundam. The joints in the waist and lower torso enable this kit to pull off some really dynamic poses true to the extreme poses from Gundam Seed series. The waist joints especially have an interesting feature that extends how far the legs can be raised to the side, and locks this extension in place so that the gunpla can replicate and hold the Gundam’s signature beam-edged round house kicks.
This kit is great and has a presence that rivals a Real Grade. I already have a kitbash custom in mind that I’ll be getting this kit for again in the future.

Took a breather for a bit, started back on HG Destiny again the other night.
Couldn’t find anymore Nicol gifs so I made this one from Episode 1.
Shut up you flying crab head.
Cagalli Yula Athha in Peter Do SS20
Sometimes a girl (me) just want to draw her favorite fictional characters in her favorite designer collections.
In this example, she wants to rectify all the missed chances Gundam Seed’s character designer on clothing one (1) goddes princess-queen of victory in powersuits that wasn’t shabby or sad or, even worse, trying to make her girly girl (too many times, nope) because Cagalli Yula Athha will kick your asses irl if you tried to do that. End of rant, maybe.
Also, I’m currently worshipping Peter Do and the design path he walks on. Like, he works under Phoebe Philo and coming up with the Spacer fabric while creating powerful garment for women like Madam Philo does in Céline ??? Such an Idol.
MS Gundam SEED - Episode 6
theres a fucking goldmine and a half’s worth of narrative weight when you combine the philosophies of nihilism and predetermination and self-actualization with the concepts of Naturals and Coordinators and even SEED factor if it was handled with any sort of grace beyond “I GIVE MY IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY LEADER SELF-INSERT THE INSTANT WIN CONDITION.”
do Coordinators have any feeling towards the fact that their parents wanted them to be very specific things in particular? when Coordinators are as naturally gifted as they are (on paper), were their accomplishments actually earned or just given to them bc they can bc engineered to be super smart, super athletic? say a Coordinator was minmaxed by their parents to be athletic but they genuinely wanted to be a STEM major, would they feel shame about it or would their parents react strongly? rau even says there were Coordinators that were more or less rejected by their parents at birth just for not appearing the way their parents wanted. how did those kids grow up? rau is the Coordinator that was created for a very specific purpose but his conclusion at the end of everything was that there was no inherent meaning to his life or anyone else’s. does meer resent the fact that despite being a Coordinator, she wasn’t born as pretty (by series standards) as the other girls or maybe she was just so painfully average by Coordinator standards that she just blended into the background and that’s why she says no one liked her before she started impersonating lacus?
outside of like two scenes, no one ever acknowledges SEED factor as an actual thing that separates those who have it from those who don’t. the fact that SEED factor happens independent of whether one’s a Natural or Coordinator would be a huge thing!!! putting aside shitty writer preferences, characters should be wondering if they had any control over receiving it or if they earned it or if that’s just something built into them. what if kira’s SEED factor was triggered not necessarily by being forced into a corner and having a deus ex machina, but the thought of protecting the archangel and everyone on-board at all costs? but because he’s never been in an environment with all Coordinators, what if he’s under the assumption all Coordinators have a SEED factor until it’s later revealed that kira very much earned it through his earnest altruistic desire, and that revelation could punch straight through rau’s nihilism?
this is just scratching the surface there’s so much good shit when you mash these concepts together and it could be taken in so many valid directions EXCEPT IN ALL THE DIRECTIONS FUKUDA AND MOROSAWA CHOSE. WE COULD’VE HAD SOMETHING!! I’M MAD!!!!!!
