Judith's Notes: We will proceed with caution: the Ninth House is dangerous and may even warrant hostile status.
The Ninth House:
Damn that’s one livid (and also lowkey jealous) Gideon
I’d been wondering if Ianthe was seeing the corpse and was just fucking with Harrow
You hadn't paid much mind to the 3rd house at all. Not even when the more skeletal of the twins had commanded her cavalier like an attack dog, hungry for more keys. The trio was nothing more than a walking display of wealth and pomp.
It wasn't until the 3rd cavalier's soul was devoured and lit aflame that you had to begrudgingly admit they were a threat. You watched the ghostly princess of Ida with morbid curiosity, as she quaked and cackled, Naberius' blood dried around her lips. You sighed inwardly, cursing yourself for the miscalculation. You had let yourself be blinded by the ever radiant, ever charismatic Coronabeth, and assumed she would become a problem.
Ianthe turned to you then, and addressed you directly for the first time, dubbing you the "Terrible little Ninth goblin."
It was at that moment, with her hair strewn wildly about, gore sluiced across her sickly pale skin, eyes flickering different colors like an oil shine, that you realized Ianthe Tridentarius was a terrible kind of beautiful.
" 'To be honest,' said Abigail, 'I'm quite sorry to crush this one as I would love to see where this mixer goes.' "
So do I, Lady Pent, so do I.
But if I have to guess, It ends up with a dance probably.

Some #thots, which, I will stress, are not intended to dismiss the romantic feelings involved between gideon and harrow, just like
I do think there is an inward facing, self reflective aspect to what Harrow does to herself, in terms of HtN
Like, partially, it’s “I don’t want to lose Gideon” (by completing lyctorhood, etc.)
But I think it’s also “I don’t want to be the person who loses her, I reject this version of myself”
Nonetheless, understand that I envy you more than I have ever envied anyone, and that I look upon your birth as a blessing. Look upon me as a Harrowhark who was handed the first genuine choice of our lives; the only choice ever given where we had free will to say, No, and free will to say, Yes.
This is kind of a disarticulated take, but
Choosing to stay in the River is more explicity romantic than the lobotomy, imo, but at the same time, I think there’s the same sort of desire not to a monster, not to be 200 dead children, not to be the kind of person who could forget, etc etc
anyway, just some #thots
Tragic Gays and Absolute Dumbasses. I can’t believe we’re getting a whole extra book. Inspired by The Meeting on the Turret Stairs by Fredric Burton.
Commissions are open.
Having too many feels about the Harrow Nova AU please take all these writing ideas away from me
More Harrow and Gideon
Coronabeth: Meanwhile, in a parallel universe where everything is narrated...
Ianthe: Harrow is thinking about Gideon’s breasts.
Gideon: *looks at Harrow with a raised eyebrow, smiling*
Harrow: NO I WASN’T I SWEAR
quick cover for a gideon the ninth playlist i am v proud of
i don't have a solid take about this but it's interesting how jeanne was worried about entering the facility without having her own key because according to teacher's rule, you may only enter a room you have permission to enter so no key = no permission, and hw harrow's bubble is very strictly definied by the roles the charatcers create there, to the point where ortus tells her not to engage with wake while nonius was fighting her because breaking the rules could've been dangerous to them
Magnus: What do bees make?
Magnus: Yes, dear?
Gideon: *overhears conversation*
Gideon later: Hey, what do bees make?
Harrow: A sound like zzzzZZZZZzzzzZZz
Harrow: *spends several months cycling between murderous rage and puking her guts up every two minutes* Ianthe: that is /so/ hot
In my Grease!AU Aiglamene is Gideons mentor in the auto body shop
Bc of her, Gideon now knows how to Repair and take apart every single damn land vehicle in the world
Excluding a tank…..(for now)
Oooooh Ortus the First is actually Gideon the First isn’t he? I was wondering about the reason why his name was capitalized so weirdly at the beginning and when it mentioned that his callsign was G.P. and not O.P. I started suspecting that the name was different but I didn’t make the connection until seeing the G. & P. again now, and also remembering the flimsy from gtn
Damn that was one effective overwrite if Harrow kept hearing the wrong name even when others said it. When John called Harrow’s cavalier Ortus instead of Gideon at the beginning I honestly thought he was just playing along.
