Hilda struggles with BPD, one of the main factors being it was formed through the trauma of abandonment. Ever since she was young, it felt like a defense mechanism at the time for her to intensely categorize people into ‘black’ and ‘white’ and outright antagonize the people who she ended up category in the ‘black’ mindset. She often struggled how to categorize her parents for a long time due to this, it was a main reason why as a child she heavily avoided talking about her parents.
It caused many problems with her friends as well. Point blank case being with Bianca and her father ( @gocatch ‘s Bianca to be specific ), how Hilda put her father under the ‘black’ category. She couldn’t understand why Bianca can’t just.. stand up to her dad, he’s obviously an All Bad Dude. The idea that he’s over protective of Bianca wasn’t even a concept. But for the sake of Bianca, she often would try not to clash with her father as much as she can. Really, she learned by just dissociating on the spot whenever he would try to speak with her.
The pent up aggression she had against Bianca’s father would accidently be lashed out to Bianca herself, often accusing Bianca that Bianca isn’t ONCE grateful for what she does since she considers Bianca her favorite person. Hilda of course instantly feels horrible about it, and tries to make it up for it. Her behavioral issues like this where it felt like she has no control over it goes into her complex where she thinks she isn’t capable of having normal dynamics with people.
Don’t get her started what a nightmare it was to cope with the BPD when the plot of BW happened.
