After four wonderful days hiking around the coastal paths of Dorset, and a horrendously long day of travel yesterday, I'm back home and back to life as usual.
Yesterday was not good, lol. We set off at 8.15am, and we should have been home at maybe 5 or 6pm. Nope. Motorways was shut, the traffic was atrocious everywhere we tried to pass through, and we eventually got home at around 9.30pm after two coaches and a taxi.
But hey, these things happen.
It's funny. When we boarded the first coach outside the hotel, the driver called back "Are we all looking forward to going back home?". And the group murmur was a collection of groans and a few different versions of "ughhh.....no!". But me? Yes, i was ready and happy to be going home, even after a wonderful trip.
I occasionally think of that phrase that tells us to create a life that we don't need a vacation from. I have that life now. I appreciate my life.
Sure, sometimes I'm a bit weary and I need a day to rest, but that's just because of how physically active my job and daily routine is. My body needs that rest. But life in general is good.
Even on my weekends off, cheese might go first a long walk or bike ride, center from home ir away somewhere in the motorhome. We do not ever want to just lie around doing nothing.
I love my active free time, and I love my job, and i realise how fortunate I am to say that.
So yes, back to normal once again.
And for me, normal is great.
